2000/5-Speed Swapped: 1966 Datsun 1600 Roadster
This 1966 Datsun 1600 roadster (chassis SPL31104685) was rebuilt in the mid 1990’s at which time it received a 2000-spec U20 and an upgraded 5-speed transmission, both of which were rebuilt prior to installation. Cosmetics look quite decent inside, out and underneath, and mileage accrued since completion sounds to be very low. Find it here on eBay in Midvale, Utah with reserve not met.
BaT Auction Success Story: The OSI Arrives in the USA!
This just in from the American buyer and importer of the OSI coupe that he purchased out of the UK via a BaT Auction in June (link):
“BaT,
Just wanted to let everyone know the OSI arrived in good order today… and now we have 3 in the US? Alfie was outstanding to work with and even helped me to coordinate adding a race engine I had purchased in France (M10 for another project) to the container. I rolled it out of the 20' pup, connected the battery and it fired right up and settled into a nice idle.
Car is just as it was presented, has great patina and will be a joy to explore more. As others have noted, this car has a greater physical presence than you might expect and most photos just don't do them justice (except Alfie's of course). One pleasant surprise is the ergonomics, they are spot on from a drivers perspective and make for a great GT layout. And one more thing, a few people commented on the missing 2.3 emblem… it was in the ash tray!
A few pics…

Curvy Mystery: 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale
This 1963 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale 1600 is said to have been with the same owner for the last 30 years, and is described as having won the 2000cc class in the 1990 Italian Vintage Car Championship. The body is said to be solid and rust-free, while the 1600 engine appears to be scruffy but largely intact, although the seller doesn’t indicate whether it’s original to the car, and no chassis number is given. This one will take some work whether it’s returned to stock or put back on the track, but either way, it would be worth the effort. Find it here on eBay in St. George, Utah for $45K.
BaT is Hiring: Deal-spotting Car Nuts Who Write Well
Here at BaT we are constantly striving to bring our readers more interesting and diverse content, both in terms of geography and daily feature volume. There might be a way for you to help do just that…
When you read BaT posts each day do you think to yourself “I could so do that”? Well, we’re looking for a few more solid freelance contributors who know a thing or two (or, well, a bit more than that) about vehicles for sale and how to find them.
If you think you fit the bill, we invite you to send an email to work@bringatrailer.com with a example post. Find a car or truck from somewhere online and write a BaT-style article about it, complete with links and 4 pictures. If your post feels like it fits, you’ll hear from us pronto.
We won’t publish your sample post without bringing you on-board first — no need to worry about that. We’re not looking for free labor — just a quick way to find writers who fit. We had a great response to our first two casting calls, and everyone has benefitted. Even if you submitted then, feel free to submit again, and if you have the right stuff, regular published features might just pay for your next restoration project.
Thanks!
Matching Numbers: 1966 Pontiac GTO Hardtop Project

A 389 YS code, single carb. 335 horse/automatic transmission-equipped car, it’s further said to run well but will need a new fan belt and battery to move under its own power again. Find it here on eBay in Teaneck New Jersey for $12,500 OBO.
