Announcement: BaT Auctions Expands Beyond Wednesday!
With the great success of BaT Auctions and the increasing supply of cars being submitted each day, we are excited to announce that our 7-day auctions will now be spread out across the week with start and end dates on multiple days. All 400+ cars run through the system so far have followed a Wednesday-to-Wednesday schedule, which has worked well. As we now grow past the 12/week volume to 15 listings this week and more in the coming weeks, the high energy openings and endings of these auctions will be on numerous days throughout the week.
Listening to your great feedback, we’ll now announce each auction listing individually in the main homepage feed. The BaT Daily Mail viewers will also see a special section for cars opening and closing that day, with *direct* links to those BaT Auction listings. No more multi-click navigation through group announcements! Each car will be easy to find and view.
We are excited to watch the excitement for this auction platform grow, and want it to be the best place enthusiasts to buy and sell interesting cars. We value your expert feedback! Please keep it coming, and stay tuned for BaT Auction listings going live today, tomorrow, and Thursday of this week!
Thanks!

1961 Pontiac Catalina Safari Wagon 389/4-Speed
This 1961 Pontiac Catalina Safari runs a 389 and 4-speed with a recent rebuild and quite a few upgrades listed such as a GTO cam and Holley four barrel carb. Additionally, rear air shocks and front discs have been added with fresh brake parts all around and the seller says the car is very reliable, having driven it on a few long trips. Despite the mechanical work done, the car requires some cosmetic attention inside as well as a bit of body and paint work. Find it here on The H.A.M.B. in Pooler, Georgia for $10,500.
1972 Datsun 240Z 5-Speed
This 1972 Datsun 240Z (chassis HLS30-100026) is a clean example that has been upgraded with a 2.8L engine and 5-speed transmission. The butterscotch paint is freshly applied and likely not the factory color based on clues in the engine bay, but the seller says that that it is a good driver. We like the looks and modifications, and the fact that the bids will stay reasonable because this isn’t the kind of stock Z that attracts the investment speculators. Find it here on eBay in Corona, California.
Howard Hughes Owned: Mercedes Benz 300SEL 6.3 Project
This 1969 Mercedes Benz 300SEL 6.3 was originally owned by Howard Hughes’ Hughes Productions as confirmed by included registration paperwork. Now in Europe and in need of restoration, little additional information is provided. Find it here on eBay near Stuttgart, Germany with a $38,500 BIN. Special thanks to BaT reader David K. for this submission.
