The Sleepiest: 800 HP All-Motor 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle
This 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle is one of the sleepiest we’ve seen in a while. Chevy had a good head start with this sort of thing in the mid-1960’s–if you didn’t look carefully to check for crossed flags on the front fenders, it’d be difficult to tell a 283 from a 396. This one packs a 572ci big block, Richmond 5-speed and a Moser limited slip rear end. With no power-adders of any sort, the seller quotes nearly 800 HP. Dusty & Rusty: 1970 Alfa Romeo Montreal Project
This 1970 Alfa Romeo Montreal (chassis 05868) is said to be just out of storage with 34k miles showing on the odometer. The car is covered in dust with a fair amount of rust, too, but doesn’t seem to be beyond restoration. There’s no word on the race-derived quad cam V8’s health, but it’d be wise to budget at least half of any reasonable project budget towards mechanicals alone. Find it here on eBay in Los Angeles, California with reserve not met.
Stored Indoors: 1961 Mack H-63 Wrecker Project
This 1961 Mack H-63 wrecker (chassis 4635) has been stored indoors for the past decade and appears to have been preserved pretty well as a result. It was last started several years ago and aside from its air starter, no mechanical details are given–hopefully the motor (likely a Mack-made diesel six) still turns freely. Find it here on eBay in Mooresville, North Carolina with a $10,500 BIN.
One of 100: 1984 AC 3000ME w/ 9K Miles
This 1984 AC 30000ME is a final year model and one of about 100 cars built–71 by AC, and a handful more by a Scottish firm that licensed both the design and company name. Initially introduced in 1973, a failed crash test and other teething problems delayed actual production until 1979, by which point the car’s basic design was out of date compared to that offered by competitors like the Lotus Esprit. The seller speculates that this one may be the lowest mileage example left, with just 9k from new, and condition looks excellent inside and out.
