Funny Face Update: 1965 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2
1/22/2016 Update: More than a year and a half since it was last featured, this 1965 Ferrari 330 GT is back for sale, this time around with much better photography and a professional write-up. Offered as part of Russo and Steele’s upcoming January 27-31 2016 Scottsdale, Arizona sale, the car still looks a bit odd but does come with a fascinating back story as well as its original Colombo V12. Modified in Italy from new per the request of first owner and New Orleans Saints team owner John W. Mecom, Jr., the car has since been restored to what looks to have been a high standard. World’s First Production Turbo: 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire
This 1962 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire (chassis 621M46097) is a claimed rust-free, Southern California-sourced example of the rare, early turbo model. Believed to be one of only a handful remaining in working condition, these were the world’s first turbocharged production cars, followed very shortly thereafter by the Corvair. Featuring a rebuilt motor and turbo, the car is said to run very well and is one of very few remaining that haven’t been converted to naturally aspirated setups. Find it here on eBay in Wichita, Kansas with reserve not met.
1981 Porsche 924 GTR Le Mans Tribute
This 1981 Porsche 924 (VIN WP0ZZZ92ZBN406795) is a low-spec, no-sunroof European spec car that’s been modified with a tuned, naturally aspirated motor, upgraded suspension and a good-looking, apparently highly accurate factory GTR tribute bodykit. Built as a streetable tracker, the seller says it’s in excellent mechanical health with about 85k miles from new, with many rare and authentic Porsche Motorsports parts used during construction. This 1991 Mercedes Benz 560SEC (VIN WDBCA45E4MA608124) is described as being in exceptional, all-original condition. It certainly looks well looked-after, and wears an excellent color combination of black over Palomino leather upholstery. Owned and maintained by an MB certified master tech, these big, graceful pillarless coupes have been undervalued for years but finally seem to be making some traction. Find this one here on eBay in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania with reserve not met.
