One of 75: 28K Mile 1987 Aston Martin Lagonda Series 3
This 1987 Aston Martin Lagonda is a Series 3 car originally sold new in France. Relocated to Portugal in 2001, it’s said to have been well maintained by a private collector since. One of 75 S3 models built, mileage is a low 45k kilometers and the car looks very nicely kept inside and out–fully functional digital gauges are another big plus. Find it here on Classic Driver in Lisbon, Portugal for $75,194 USD. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
See Where They Rust: 1958 Austin Healey 100-6
"See Where They Rust" is a series and category where we feature listings that do a particularly good job displaying where certain models tend to suffer from rust. We love looking for rust-free cars, but we have learned a ton about how to inspect the dry cars from looking at photos of heavily rusted models. Obviously floors and rocker panels are always at risk, but every model has different special areas where they corrode. We hope that this series is informative and helpful when you are verifying the claims of sellers and their "99% rust free" cars. -BaT
This 1958 Austin Healey 100-6 (chassis 05811) is listed as an “excellent restoration candidate”, but the reality is that those days are probably long gone. Rust is prevalent everywhere–not a single panel has escaped corrosion in at least one form or another, and the car displays a pronounced death sag in the middle. Find it here on eBay in Los Angeles, California for $9,750 OBO.
Rare Beast: Nicely Restored 1973 Cadillac DeVille Caribou Pick-Up
This 1973 Cadillac Coupe DeVille pick-up was professionally converted by Caribou, and more recently was treated to a restoration effort that included a 500ci V8 swap, a rebuilt automatic trans, upgraded ignition, brakes, shocks, and more. Cosmetics also received attention. The car looks amazing and is said to have won awards at several shows including two AACA events. Find it here on eBay in Vero Beach, Florida with a $30k BIN.
Sharp Restoration: 1936 Pierce-Arrow 1601 Club Sedan
This 1936 Pierce-Arrow 1601 Club Sedan comes from near the end of the manufacturer’s run, and as such is their most modern model. Though still built with fairly traditional methods like 19 gauge steel over ash framing, Pierce took efforts to make sure the car would have excellent ride and handling for the day. This one has been restored and looks fantastic. Find it here on Craigslist in San Diego, California for $61k. Special thanks to BaT reader tT.J. for this submission.
