Low-Spec 4-Door: 1955 Chevrolet 210 Townsman Wagon
This 1955 Chevrolet 210 Townsman Wagon is a great example for how the right color, wheels, and stance can turn an ordinary model into an something special. An blue-plate California car in the state for the last three decades, the seller claims it is rust free and very straight and with the factory trim, drop spindles, SBC and 4-speed, it has a very cool low-spec appeal. Find it here on eBay in Cardiff, California.
Lots of Potential: Needy RHD 1990 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.5-16
This 1990 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.5-16 (VIN WDB2010352f698668) is a right hand-drive example recently imported to the United States. The car has some cosmetic and mechanical needs, but seems to have potential, and with the larger, ROW-only 2.5 liter Cosworth twin cam, dogleg 5-speed and cool plaid interior, it could make a compelling driver provided you’re prepared to get greasy and don’t mind driving on the wrong side. Find it here on eBay in Tampa, Florida with reserve not met.
BaT Auction Success Story: Seller Goes Above & Beyond for VW Cabriolet Buyer
This just in from the buyer of the modified 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet that was purchased via BaT Auctions this past December (link).
“Hello BaT,
My name is Brent and I'm the lucky new owner of the Modified 1988 Volkswagen Cabriolet that was auctioned on December 17th, 2015. Like a lot of people, I love opening your emails every morning and day dreaming about all of the interesting vehicles. I never imagined myself buying a car off of an online auction. But when a local photographer who runs a European car club here in the Twin Cities said that a trusted friend of his had a very nice Mk1 Cabriolet for sale I decided it was worth a second look.
After drooling over the ‘Scratch-Built 1979 VW Rabbit 16V’ that was auctioned off on BaT back in 2012 (by the same seller, Mr. ‘Tfries’) I was more than interested in this new car he had for sale. I contacted the seller Tfries and he responded very quickly. He said that he trusted the vehicle would make the drive from Pennsylvania to Minnesota, and that he was also willing to pick me up from the airport 30 minutes away if I wanted. At that point I felt comfortable with the seller and my gut was telling me that this was the vehicle I had been waiting for.
Rare in the US: 1990 Toyota Crown w/ No Reserve
This 1990 Toyota Crown (VIN GS1312294473) has had only two owners including the seller, who imported the car from Japan some time in the past year. Said to be well maintained with all Japanese service records included, the car sounds to be in good mechanical health with all its many electrical accessories in working order as well. Though not a V8 model like the last Crown featured on BaT, it’s still a large, comfy, RWD cruiser with pillarless windows, a refrigerator and a distinctly Bubble Economy Era JDM vibe. Find it here on eBay in Laurel, Maryland with no reserve.
