Clean & Matching-Numbers: 30 Year Owned 1970 Porsche 914-6
This 1970 Porsche 914-6 is described by its owner of 30 years as an honest, unmolested, matching-numbers, extensively documented, 74k mile example with no rust and a recent, engine-out service. The car does look very impressive in photos, though it’s unclear if the ad’s claims of originality simply refer to sheet metal and major components, or extend to the paint and interior as well. Regardless, this one would appear to be among the nicest we’ve come across in some time. Find it here on Craigslist in El Cajon, California for $77k.
No Reserve & Three Figure Bidding: 1959 Borgward Isabella Coupe Project
This 1959 Borgward Isabella coupe is offered as a non-running but largely complete project with some fairly advanced floor and sill rust. As the seller puts it, the car “just needs everything.” Still, bidding remains under $300 at the time of writing, and with no reserve it could go very cheaply. Find it here on eBay in Greenacres, Washington. Special thanks to BaT reader PGN for this submission.
Early MGA Coupe Project & Friends
This ad offers the MGA Coupe seen in the foreground, which the seller guesses to be a 1957 model. The car is shown from a few different angles, adjacent to the same yellow TR6, but with a lot more grass and overgrowth surrounding it and even coming through the interior. The seller admits it’s very rusty and even overpriced “in the best English tradition,” but we’re more interested in the rest of the stable, which they insist is not up for sale at the moment. Is that a Giulietta Spider at the far end? Perhaps someone looking for a Lancia Scorpion project will be able to persuade a sale. Find them all here on Craigslist near Lansing, Michigan, where the seller is asking $2k for the MGA coupe.
Sharp 304 Swap: Mean Sounding 1976 AMC Hornet X Sportabout
This 1976 AMC Hornet X Sportabout looks remarkably well-kept in dozens of large, well-lit and composed photos, and packs a sweet-sounding, recently rebuilt 304ci V8 in place of its original 258ci straight-six. The car has a small handful of very minor imperfections, but overall presents excellently throughout, including underneath in a series of chassis and floor shots. Find it here on Craigslist in Troy, Ohio for $10,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Matt S. for this submission.
