$1.20 Per Pound: 20K Mile 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis
This 1977 Mercury Grand Marquis is said to have accumulated just under 20k miles since new, and appears to be in great condition. Further claimed to be original down to the whitewalls, the car was taken off the road 35 years ago, before recently being dusted off again. Among the very last of the pre-Malaise Detroit land barges, this car is nearly 20′ long, rides on a 124″ wheelbase, and puts the 460 big block to good work with its 2.5 ton curb weight. Find it here on Craigslist in Warren, New Jersey for $5,950.
Rare Turbodiesel: Well Kept 1986 Jeep Cherokee XJ
This 1986 Jeep Cherokee is an early XJ platform truck with the rare Renault turbodiesel option. A 5-speed example, it looks to be in excellent shape, and prior to the selling dealer, is said to have remained with one family from new. The seller adds that a bit more than half of its 133k miles were picked up while being towed behind an RV, further noting that it runs like new and has cold factory A/C. Find it here on eBay in Phoenix, Arizona with an $8,500 BIN.
55K Miles: Well Kept 1968 Renault R10
This 1968 Renault 10 is described by its seller as an exceptionally good example with 55k original miles. Sold in the US from as a competitor to the Volkswagen Beetle, the R8 and follow-up R10 offered an angular follow-up to the more rounded but similarly rear-engined Dauphine. The seller has owned this example for 15 years and claims that 20k miles have been added “virtually trouble-free,” which is about as good as it gets for a 50 year old car regardless of origin or condition. Find it here on Craigslist in Huntington Beach, California for $5,900.
One of Three Left: 1959 Bentley S1 Continental Mulliner Tailfin
This 1959 Bentley S1 Continental is said to be one of just three remaining examples fitted with unusual tailfinned bodywork by H.J. Mulliner. Information is otherwise very limited, but the car looks grand, despite a handful of slightly awkward details. Additionally, though it looks to be in wonderful condition throughout, the car is priced substantially lower than more traditional Mulliner-bodied examples. Find it here at Lutziger Classic Cars in Bergdietikon, Switzerland for 250k CHF (~255k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
