Highly Original w/ 9K Miles: 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta
This 1969 De Tomaso Mangusta is said to have accrued only 9k miles from new, and even more remarkably is believed to remain almost completely original including paint and most of the interior. Stored from 1979 until earlier this year, it’s been gone through and is now said to be ready to drive. Though now on offer by a dealer, it’s said to have had only two previous owners, one of which had the car from 1970 when it was only one year-old. Find it here on eBay in Lutz, Florida for $380k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Geo Tracker: 1986 Suzuki Samurai
This 1986 Suzuki Samurai sounds to be largely stock apart from a three-inch lift, a claimed $6k custom paint job, bumpers, a Weber carb, and of course the tracks at each corner. The 63 horse 1.3 liter four might have trouble keeping up at anything over 60 MPH or so, but that’s no different from an unmodified example. Sale also includes four 15″ wheels with big 33″ rubber, and this thing looks like it’d be a blast in an open field like those seen in the background–especially with some snow on the ground. Find it here on Craigslist in Dove Creek, Colorado for $15k.
L’Escargot D’Orange: 1980 Citroen 2CV w/ No Reserve
This 1980 Citroen 2CV was restored in Germany using many NOS parts, the seller further claiming that work started on an accident and rust-free car that needed no body work. This unusual bright orange is said to have been the car’s original color, and the quality of refurbishment looks to have been unusually high for a 2CV. The seller says it runs and drives just as well, claiming just 32k and change kilometers from new. Find it here on eBay in Fayetteville, North Carolina with no reserve.
Cheap 5-Speed Driver: 1992 Ford Taurus SHO 3.2 Swap
This 1992 Ford Taurus SHO is a preferred 5-speed manual-equipped car, and though mileage is high at 203k, the seller claims 50k less on the Yamaha V6. Noted to be a 3.2 liter version, this indicates it was swapped from an automatic car, which in addition to 200 extra cc’s of displacement over manual cars, also offered 15 lb. ft. more torque for a total of 215–HP remained unchanged as 220. Condition looks pretty good for a driver, and the seller claims no rust. Despite the bland wrapper, these cars pack a world-class drivetrain and an entertaining chassis, and despite the somewhat scarce three pedal arrangement, this one is priced like any other 25 year-old used mid-size family car. Find it here on Craigslist in Foxboro, Massachusetts for $3k.
