Cheap Thrills: $1400 1986 Honda Civic Si
This 1986 Honda Civic Si is said to be in “perfect,” all stock condition. These third generation cars were excellent to drive in any form, and Si’s were essentially four seater CRX’s, with a 91 HP, SOHC, 12 valve 1.5 liter four-cylinder, 5-speed manual, and sportier suspension tuning. Photos, peeling tint, and a recent hose-down don’t help this one, but it does appear to be in quite nice shape overall, and if truly as good as claimed, it’s hard to think of a similar amount of practical, well-built, fun for the dollar. Find it here on Craigslist in Longmont, Colorado for $1,400 firm. Special thanks to BaT reader Dan I. for this submission.
Not Subtle: 400 HP 1959 Morris Minor
This 1959 Morris Minor has been heavily upgraded, largely in support of a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII’s 4G63T 2.0 liter four, here tuned up to a nice round 400 HP. The car looks well built and is certainly very fast, but could be much cooler with a darker color and with toned down wheels and exhaust. Find it here on eBay in Lutz, Florida for $37k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader PGN for this submission.
Very Rare Pick-Up Project: 1960-ish Opel Rekord P2
This unusual Opel pick-up (chassis C151934664) is a bit of a mystery, the seller claiming in the short ad that it’s both a 1965 and as well as perhaps a few years younger, further citing two different continents that it may have been built on. What’s clear is that it’s a rare factory build with lots of rust–and that it’s a Rekord P2, built from 1960-’63. The seller admits that its very rough, but hopes that an abundance of rare parts and relative completeness keeps it from being crushed. Find it here on eBay in Hanford, California with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
59K Miles w/ Two Owners: 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI
This 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit GTI is described as an original, rust free, 59k mile, lifelong Bay Area car on offer by its second owner. It looks good in photos, and the seller notes many new parts including tires, adding that it runs and drives well. Find it here on Craigslist in San Ramon, California for $7,800 OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Bjorn B. for this submission.
