24 Valves & 9K RPM: Tuned 1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R
This 1970 Nissan Skyline GT-R has been with the seller for 31 years, during which time it’s said to have been well-maintained and garaged. Despite their value, a lot of these cars have been modified, and this example is no exception–originally white, it’s obviously been resprayed, and the interior features aftermarket, Recaro-style seats. Most notably, the exotic, race-bred S20 24 valve twin cam six has been rebuilt with high comp pistons and performance cams, and the seller says it will spin safely all the way to 9k RPM. Find it here on Yahoo! Auctions in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan with bidding currently at 15,540,000 JPY (~$146k USD today) and two weeks to go. Special thanks to BaT reader Gooffer for this submission.
Rare Driver: 1950 Dodge Route Van w/ Factory IRS
This 1950 Dodge Route Van is a rarity, especially in decent, running and driving condition like this example. Built for only a few years and in limited quantities, hard info on the model is difficult to come by, but the seller claims that this one features independent rear suspension, presumably to allow a flatter, lower cargo floor. The van runs a 318ci V8 and push-button automatic, and though in need of some work, overall it looks much better than the rusty hulks more frequently found for sale. Find it here on eBay in Sheridan, Wyoming for $10k OBO.
Mostly Original Ex-Party Official Car: 1972 GAZ 24 Volga in Florida
This 1972 GAZ 24 Volga was originally issued to a communist party head from Zhytomyr, Ukraine, who then privatized it some time in the mid 80’s. The car was then inherited by their grandson in the 90’s, from whom the car was purchased by the seller earlier this year. Described as 99.9% original, in reality that figure is probably closer to 90%–seats have been reupholstered, and neither the carb nor air filter housing are factory. Still, the car looks very well preserved, and the seller says it runs and drives very well. Find it here on Craigslist in Fort Myers, Florida for $10k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Gooffer for this submission.
$10K 318/Automatic Driver: 1966 Dodge Charger
This 1966 Dodge Charger is a first year example with a rather low-spec 318 polysphere and 3-speed automatic drivetrain combination. The car runs, and is described by the seller as a daily drivable project with minimal rust. It’s far from show-ready, but looks better than the seller’s “50-footer” description, and at this price seems like it could make an excellent starting platform for something special. Find it here on Craigslist in Hayward, California for $10,200. Special thanks to BaT reader J.L. for this submission.
