Bizarre History: Never Titled 1979 Chrysler Cordoba w/ 472 Hemi Swap
This 1979 Chrysler Cordoba 300 Edition (chassis SS22L9R161442) sat unsold as a dealership for many years before finally being unloaded as-new sometime around 2000. Immediately following sale, its original 360 was pulled in favor of a fuel-injected crate 472ci hemi, though the old, virtually unused motor is included as well. The story gets even weirder, as the car was then parked outdoors about seven years ago and hasn’t run since. The window sticker remains in place, but the car has never been titled and shows just 200 miles, nearly all of which sound to have been added under power of the crate hemi. Find it here on eBay in Tivoli, New York with reserve not met.
One of 410: 1985 Lamborghini Jalpa
This 1985 Lamborghini Jalpa is one of just 410 built over an eight year period ending in ’88. Said to have traveled just 12k miles from new, it looks very good inside and out, and is presumed to remain largely if not all original. No maintenance specifics are provided, though the seller claims that mechanicals are in very good order, noting good oil pressure, synchros, brakes and more . Find it here at Kastners Garage in Los Angeles, California for $97,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Price Drop Update: 1935 Bentley 3.5 Liter by Freestone & Webb
6/16/2016 Update: Just under a year later, this 1935 Bentley 3.5 Liter (chassis B190DG) with Freestone & Webb Sport Saloon coachwork is back on eBay, this time with an opening asking price of nearly $15,000 less. No new information is provided–in fact the ad is copy-and-paste identical to the last one, but the car remains in what looks to be very nice condition inside and out, with elegant lines and fantastic colors. Find it here on eBay in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for $74,500 OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Nicholas for this submission.
Yellow Redhead: 1988 Ferrari Testarossa
This 1988 Ferrari Testarossa is finished in rare Giallo over chocolate brown leather, and has reportedly been with the seller for more than 20 years now. No maintenance details are mentioned, but the car has 22k miles and looks very well kept in photos. These cars have seen a huge upswing in prices over the past year or so, and provided the seller can supply adequate records, this one could be a decent buy. Find it here on Craigslist in Los Angeles, California for $104k. Special thanks to BaT reader Frank for this submission.
