$5500 Driver: 1972 Citroen D Special
This 1972 Citroen D Special (chassis AC7201FC4437) looks very good for a car at this price, and the ad’s writer says that’s been with its former L.A. Citroen Club editor owner for 20 years. Judging by the car’s stance, oleopneumatics seem to be in good working order, and the ad notes that the system has been converted from original LHM fluid to Dexron III. Interior and engine bay photos aren’t great, but both look to be in quite decent condition regardless. The seller notes a few issues including the need for a new choke cable and turn signal relay, as well as some scratches, but adds that it’s been garaged and well maintained, too. Very Complete & Restorable Driver: 1972 Mercury Capri
This 1972 Mercury Capri needs some cosmetic work, but appears to be very straight and solid, and the seller says that it runs and drives despite also being in need of a carb rebuild. A 2.0 liter Pinto four-cylinder engined car, it could make an excellent platform for a 289 or 302 powered restomod, complete with big discs, a 5-speed and LSD wrapped in a low-key, largely stock looking shell. Sharp 23K Miler: 1974 Fiat X1/9
This 1974 Fiat X1/9 (chassis 128AS0017155) looks great following a 2015 respray, the seller further claiming excellent mechanicals and only 23k original miles. The ad goes on to detail no rust or previous accidents, and though very similar in appearance to another X1/9 featured here a few weeks ago, this one sounds to be turnkey ready. Find it here on eBay in Los Angeles, California with reserve not met.
Late and Low-Spec: 1989 Toyota MR2
This 1989 Toyota MR2 is a rare final year base trim level that looks and sounds to be in very nice condition. A 5-speed car with an unusual but attractive blue over blue color scheme and 89k claimed miles, the seller says it’s all original, untouched and unmodified with everything in proper working order.
