Jade Kei Twin Update: 1975 Mazda Chantez
7/17/2016 Update: More than four years from the first time BaT featured it back in January of 2012 this 1975 Mazda Chantez is back on the market, this time again in Pennsylvania. It’s an odd, interesting little Kei car featuring a water-cooled two-stroke twin in the nose, and the seller even notes A/C–there’s no word on whether it’s still working, though. Condition looks to be of a good, honest driver quality throughout, and as noted below, three of its previous owners have chimed in thus far–hopefully the latest is watching too. Find it here on Craigslist in Butler, Pennsylvania for $6k. Special thanks to BaT reader Alex T. for this submission.
Crashed & Repaired: $72K OBO 1990 Ferrari Testarossa
This 1990 Ferrari Testarossa sounds like a bit of a gamble, as it carries a salvage title due to now repaired crash damage on the right rear quarter panel. It’s priced at least $30k less than most of these cars now go for however, and the seller claims that it runs and drives very well. Additionally, an engine-out belt service is said to have been completed 2k miles ago, potentially a big plus provided crash damage was properly fixed. Find it here on eBay in Washington, Oklahoma for $72k OBO.
Hardtop Twin Turbo Cressida: 1988 Toyota Mark II GT
This 1988 Toyota Mark II GT Twin Turbo sounds to be a very good example, the seller claiming one previous owner, no modifications, full documentation from new, and full functionality including ice-cold A/C. Essentially a hardtop version of the car more familiar to US readers as the Cressida, styling is different throughout, and instead of a naturally aspirated 7M-GE 3.0 liter straight-six, this car runs a first generation, twin turbo 1G-GTE rated at about 210 HP. Condition looks excellent throughout, and the ad further claims no rust, accidents, or mechanical issues. Find it here on Craigslist in Suburban Washington, DC for $6,950.
Nice Patina: 1961 Renault Dauphine Driver
This 1961 Renault Dauphine looks and sounds as if it may remain largely original, and the seller says that it runs, drives and stops well following fitment of new brakes, Firestones, a fresh battery, rebuilt carb and a tuneup. It’s got a nice patina throughout, though factory looking upholstery is starting to look a bit dog-eared. Sale includes what’s described as extensive original paperwork, and though very slow, these cars are super easy to work on and make for very interesting entry level classics. Find this one here on eBay in Powder Springs, Georgia with no reserve. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
