Restored Vintage Custom Build: 1972 Volkswagen T2 Tandem Axle Flatbed
This 1972 Volkswagen T2 sounds to have started life as a factory single cab dropside pick-up, later modified with an extra axle and flatbed sometime that same decade. The seller says it served as a VW specialist shop truck in Northern California from the 70’s until sometime in the 90’s, adding that it came to Europe for restoration two years ago. Said to be all new down to the smallest detail, the truck looks great and is said to be capable of nearly 70 MPH even with a vintage Porsche on back–check out the full gallery below for 356 content. Find it here on Classic Trader in Renkum, Netherlands for $76,818.
Square Four for Three: 1948 Ariel “Squariel” w/ Watsonian Sidecar
This 1948 Ariel Square Four is fitted with an interesting Watsonian sidecar, though the real point of fascination here is the bike’s unusual engine in which two vertical twins occupy the same case, with their cranks geared together to provide drive. The seller describes condition as original, though also admits to some restoration work–regardless of its history, condition looks truly excellent throughout. Find it here at Hyman in Saint Louis, Missouri for $42,500.
Nicely Restored: 1967 Simca 1000 Bertone Coupe
This 1967 Simca 1000 is a very pretty Giugiaro styled coupe following on the similar project car featured earlier this month. Reported to have been restored about 11 years ago, it looks to be in wonderful, correct condition inside and out, and though mechanical condition isn’t specifically touched on, sale does include a documented, thorough inspection which should help in identifying any problem areas. Find it here on Classic Driver in Koln, Germany for $21,700 USD.
All Original Driver: $3500 1954 Packard Clipper Deluxe
This 1954 Packard Clipper isn’t a two-door or an immaculate restoration, but it is believed to remain all original and is further claimed to run and drive very well. Condition looks to be of quite a decent driver level, especially for an untouched 62 year old car, and interestingly, the seller’s asking price is probably just north of what a fully loaded example would have sold for new. Find it here on Craigslist in Fall River, Massachusetts for $3,500 firm. Special thanks to BaT reader Paul A. for this submission.
