Sporty Slav: Rare GVX Trim 1988 Yugo
This 1988 Yugo GVX (VIN VX1BC1510JK442467) is a rare range topping trim level “sports” model fitted with a factory bodykit. The seller says it was driven occasionally but largely stored indoors over the past 25 plus years, and as a result condition still looks to be unusually good. Everything is reported to work, and the seller says it runs and drives well, but an erratic cold idle will need looking into. Find it here on eBay in Manchester, Maryland for $5,500 OBO.
SBC Swapped: 1973 Toyota Celica
This 1973 Toyota Celica has been modified to make use of a carbureted 350 SBC, with other modifications including AE86 Corolla GT-S front suspension. The car retains its original visual character and the swap appears to be pretty tidy, though the automatic trans isn’t ideal–a five or 6-speed swap would complete the package nicely, as cosmetics already look to be quite decent inside and out. Find it here on Craigslist in Redding, California for $15k.
Swiss Built, Italian Bodied IH Scout: 1981 Monteverdi Safari
This 1981 Monteverdi Safari is a rare and interesting Swiss built, International Harvester Scout based truck with coachwork by Italian carrozzeria Fissore. The ad describes a thorough, detailed oriented restoration effort, and condition does look to be excellent inside, out, and underneath. Find it here at Gallery Aaldering (formerly Brummen), in Brummen, Netherlands for 54k euros (~$59,500 USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Period Gray Import: 1984 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC AMG
This 1984 Mercedes Benz 500 SEC (VIN WDB1260441A071836) is Euro spec car that was brought over under gray import law when still nearly new. Sent almost immediately to a local AMG authorized shop, the car then received its bodykit, lowering springs, wheels, Recaros and other touches as noted further below and in the ad. Records date back to 1991, and the seller notes a recent $1,800 refreshing that included fitment of new shifter bushings, cam cover gaskets and more. A/C has recently been serviced as well, and still runs original spec R12 refrigerant. Condition looks and sounds to be very good throughout, and be sure not to miss the shot of the car parked next to a red Testarossa further below. Find it here on eBay in Rocklin, California with reserve not met.
