Mopar V8 Swap: 318 Powered 1986 Mitsubishi Starion
This 1986 Mitsubishi Starion (VIN JA3BC54H6GZ040049) is an unusual custom build featuring a Chrysler small block V8 and TorqueFlite in place of its original turbocharged SOHC four–the DSM influence is made clear in the ad. A few details aren’t quite 100% as we’d have wanted, but the car looks great from the outside, and workmanship looks good as well. The car has won numerous show awards, but will still need a fair amount of sorting prior to being road ready. Find it here on eBay in Abita Springs, Louisiana with no reserve beyond an unmet $9,500 starting bid.
$50K OBO: Partially Restored 1938 Delahaye 135 Coupes des Alpes
This 1938 Delahaye 135 wears striking, beautiful coachbuilt Coupe des Alpes bodywork by Guillore, and though still in need of final reassembly, new upholstery, and a few missing parts, the seller says that it’s been fully dismantled and restored. Body panels are described as entirely free of rust and filler, and wood underneath has all be redone as well. There’s no word on the car’s 3.2 straight-six, but it does appear to be included and almost complete. Find the car here on eBay somewhere in the UK for $50k OBO.
One of Three in LHD: 1964 Gilbern GT Project
This 1964 Gilbern GT is one of just 277 built, and remains an interesting reminder of the only Welsh auto manufacturer’s early chapters. Said to be one of just three LHD examples built, the car benefits from a rebuilt MGB 1800, gearbox, overdrive, and front suspension, and the seller further claims that it remains solid and mostly complete. Find it here on Craigslist in Annandale, Virginia for $15k OBO.
Ex-Presidential Entourage: 1956 Imperial Limousine Project
This 1956 Imperial limo (chassis C561162) is described as “one of 74 available to president Eisenhower for his entourage,” the ad further claiming it to be a Ghia bodied car. We aren’t able to comment on any presidential service history, but it certainly does not appear to be an Italian coachbuilt example. Regardless, it’s a hugely special old beast, and though the seller admits that the car is rough, they add that its also largely complete and has already undergone some restorative work. Find it here on Craigslist in San Jose, California for $4,500.
