Rally Fintail Update: 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SE
10/10/2016 Update: Nearly three years later, and this 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SE is back on the market with the same seller. Restored some years ago, it’s also been prepped for vintage rallying, the builder fitting a full cage, leather Recaros, a tach, an appropriately old-school Halda timer, and a collection of participant stickers for events stretching back to the mid-1990’s, including the Monte Carlo Historique. 7K-Mile Straight-Six: 1979 Honda CBX
This 1979 Honda CBX (VIN CB12009725) is a good looking example of the big straight-six, and the seller reports just one registered owner and 7k miles from new. The bike is further said to have spent most of its life in storage, and quite a bit of recent refurbishment work including rebuilt carbs, new tires, a fresh battery and more sound to have been a direct result of this disuse. It’s now said to start easily and run well however, and paint remains original and well-kept. Find it here on Craigslist in Redding, California for $12k.
$5K Running Project: 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo
This 1988 Lotus Esprit Turbo is offered as a project with “several issues,” many or not most of which are likely attributable to the car sitting unused for the past 13 years. The seller says it will turn over and start, and it sounds as if sale will include a title at well. Find it here on Craigslist in Gadsden, Alabama for $5k. Matching-Numbers 426 Hemi/4-Speed: 1967 Plymouth GTX
This 1967 Plymouth GTX is described as a numbers-matching 426 hemi/4-speed car with what appears to be all original sheet metal. Sale includes the factory buildsheet and Certicard, and condition looks to be excellent inside and out. The seller says that floors, frame rails and trunk are all perfect, adding that the car runs and drives like new. Find it here on Craigslist in Wakefield, Massachusetts for $89,500.
