Ambitious: Pre-A 1953 Porsche 356 Cabriolet
This rolling (presumably) chassis comes from a 1953 Porsche 356 pre-A cabriolet, and sale is said to include additional but unspecified parts. Only two photos are provided, one of the car–or what’s left of it–and another of the stamped chassis number. We see what may be a door lying up against the storage building in the background, but it’s not clear exactly is included aside from what’s pictured. Find it here on Craigslist in Miami, Florida for $100k. Special thanks to BaT reader Bilo for this submission.
One Year Later: 1966 Willys M274-A2 Mule
10/26/2016 Update: Last year, this Willys Mule was purchased by a BaT reader on the East Coast. He’s now offering it for sale here on Craigslist in Warren, Massachusetts for $7,750.
From 3/12/2015:
This 1966 Willys M274 Mule is one of about 11,000 made between the end of WWII and 1970. Weighing only half a ton or so, motivation comes from a correct but recently replaced Continental-Hercules air-cooled two cylinder whose modest power is distributed through a 3-speed primary transmission and high-low range transfer case. This one sounds to be in good shape and has been retrofitted with electric start as well. Find it here on eBay in San Diego, California with a $6,500 opening bid.
Ex-Firefighter: 1986 Ford C8000 Race Hauler
This 1986 Ford C8000 (chassis 1FDYD80U5GVA32489) started life as a firetruck, but has more recently been converted into a fantastic looking beavertail car hauler. The truck runs a rebuilt Caterpillar turbodiesel V8, and the seller says it’s been driven around the country from event to event without issue. Attention to detail sounds high, with built-in storage, loading ramp lighting, fully functional gauges, in-cab A/C, and separate, rear air conditioning that runs off a small diesel generator when parked All graphics are easily removable, and condition looks quite good throughout. Find it here on eBay in Saint Louis, Missouri with reserve not met.
Sharp Euro-Spec Car: 1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9
This 1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SEL 6.9 (chassis 11603612001673) comes offered in Euro spec with no reserve, and is said to have been imported to the US and subsequently federalized to meet DOT standards. The seller claims an extra 40 HP on tap thanks to an easier-breathing V8, and service records dating back to the 70’s are included. Find it here on eBay in Portland, Oregon with no reserve.
