Finished Driver at Nearly Kit Cost: 1984 Westfield XI

d

This Westfield XI is said to be chassis number 49, originally manufactured in 1984, but much more recently finished. It’s been driven only 250 miles since completion in 2010, and power comes from a performance build BMC 1275. As the seller points out, new unfinished kits go for very nearly the asking price for this fully drivable example, potentially making for quite a deal. Find it here on Hemmings in Taylorsville, North Carolina for $24k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Rob D. for this submission.

One of 441: Drivable 1954 Kaiser Darrin Project

1954 Kaiser Darrin

This 1954 Kaiser Darrin is one of just 441 built (including six pre-production prototypes), all of which were for the same model year. The seller says it’s been off the road since the early 80’s, but its matching-numbers straight-six runs and the car can be driven, albeit likely not very far. Find it here on Craigslist in San Diego, California for $65k. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.

Good Starting Point: 350/Muncie 4-Speed 1962 Austin Healey 3000

d

This 1962 Austin Healey 3000 has been fitted with a 350 SBC and Muncie 4-speed, and though wheels, the polished roll bar and a few other details could stand to be better resolved, overall the car looks far better executed than most V8 swaps. Sale can include a hardtop if the buyer wishes, and with 300 HP, it’s sure to be plenty quick. Find it here on Craigslist in Baltimore, Maryland for $24k. Special thanks to BaT reader KLSL for this submission.

Please Don’t Speed: 1980 Renault Le Car Police Replica

a

This 1980 Renault Le Car is said to have just 33k original miles, and somewhere along the line has been outfitted with graphics and equipment designed to replicate those used on La Conner, Washington police cars. Apparently, the town ordered many of these odd little hatches throughout the late 70’s and early 80’s, as was capitalized on by Renault’s US advertising agency–check out the full story for a photo of said ad. Find it here on Craigslist in Burlington, Washington for $6,500.
