$10K Driver: BMW Turbodiesel/5-Speed 1986 Vixen 21
This 1986 Vixen RV is one of 587 built over a four year period ending in 1989, and though it has a few needs (it currently cuts out on hills and will not hold a charge for long), condition looks very good inside and out, and sale includes what’s claimed to be $5k in spare parts. These are remarkable vehicles, full of intelligent engineering and built to a higher standard that is typical in the RV industry. Powered by a rear-mounted BMW turbodiesel and capable of surprisingly good economy and handling, this one is priced at less than half of what is typical for similarly well-kept looking examples. One-Family 390 Driver: 1968 Mercury Monterey Fastback
This 1968 Mercury Monterey fastback comes equipped with a factory 2bbl 280 HP 390. The seller says it’s all original, and has seen little use in the past five years. As a result it will need some unspecified TLC, but what can be seen looks promising, and it’s claimed to run and drive very well regardless of any pending needs. Find it here on Craigslist in San Francisco, California for $6,500.
Turbo 5-Speed w/ 67K Miles: 1987 Shelby Daytona Z
This 1987 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z is said to have 67k miles, no rust, mostly original paint, and 20-footer cosmetics. These cars offered 174 HP and 200 lb. ft. of torque from a turbo four, along with disc brakes and upgraded suspension. For the day, they were quick and sure-footed, and very few remain in any condition. This one looks like it’s worth preserving. Find it here on Craigslist in Limerick, Pennsylvania for $4k firm.
Soviet Toiler: 1971 GAZ-69 in Miami
This 1971 GAZ-69 is said to be highly original with 8,300 easy looking miles under its wheels. Further claimed to be legally imported and registered in Florida, the seller says it’s been well maintained and that all gauges and switchgear work properly.
