RIP Brock Yates: Cannonball Run Style Dodge Ambulance
10/7/2016 Update: It hasn’t been very long since this 1978 Dodge B200 Sportsman Cannonball Run tribute was last featured in March of this year, but following on the sad news of Brock Yates passing earlier this week, its relisting is simply too timely to ignore. Condition looks and sounds to be much as it was last time around, with power coming a 360 rather than the Dick Landy build 440 that powered Yates’ original, but it should sound great through a Flowmaster equipped exhaust, and the Transcon Medi-Vac livery is just about spot-on. Find it here on eBay in Chicago, Illinois for $11,500 OBO.
Under $3K: 1973 Jensen Interceptor III Project
This 1973 Jensen Interceptor III is offered as a non-running and somewhat rough looking project, the seller adding that it would now be best used as the basis for a custom. Missing quite a bit of trim as well as its title, there’s no word on the drivetrain, though despite the seller’s pessimism regarding a return to stock, that would be the ideal goal for any potential restoration. At the very least, the car appears to have a lot of good parts to donate. Find it here on Craigslist in Santa Rosa, California for $2,850. Special thanks to BaT reader Eric B. for this submission.
BaT Auction Success Story: Deal Struck on 1978 Porsche 924
Though it didn’t meet reserve, the Porsche 924 featured as a BaT auction this past month (link) still ended up going home with the high bidder, as fortunately they were able to strike a deal with the seller at auction’s end. He’s just reached out to update us on the transaction and trip home.
“Greetings from DentalFlossTycoon in Bozeman, MT.
Since 2009 I’ve been a BaT addict unwilling to miss a single post on the site. My wife has picked up on the habit, which we have passed to her nine year-old son. Recently we’ve been on the lookout for an affordable classic that would not be too precious to drive or too complicated to keep running. We chased a few air-cooled VW’s and even planned a family vacation around a Type 3 we didn’t end up winning.
Big Flathead Driver: 1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan
This 1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan is a running, driving car benefiting from new paint, the seller further claiming no rust and what they believe to be the original interior and 337ci flathead V8. The ad is very brief, but we gather that the car is an unfinished project, likely still in need of suspension, brake, and/or electrical sorting. It looks quite straight and complete however, and if truly corrosion free, seems like it could be a no-brainer at this price. Find it here on Craigslist near Boston, Massachusetts for $7,900.
