OBO Update: Turnkey 1965 Triumph 2000 Vintage Racer
10/8/2016 Update: Seven months and change since its last feature, and this 1965 Triumph 2000 is back on the market with a slightly lower price and newly added “best offer” option. Described as turnkey ready, the car has been prepped for vintage competition, and despite its smallish size, some readers might be surprised to read it packs factory straight-six power, in this case augmented with triple Webers and reportedly good for 170 HP. Sale includes a VARA logbook, two sets of wheels, and the ad further claims less than two hours use on the rebuilt engine. Find it here on eBay in Gardena, California for $8,100 OBO.
Big Blue V6/5-Speed: 1972 Fiat 130
This 1972 Fiat 130 is a former Italian Ministerio Dell'Interno service car, the seller further describing it as well-kept with 117k kilometers. These were relatively large, luxurious and powerful cars, and this one pairs Lampredi’s excellent Fiat V6 with a ZF 5-speed manual gearbox, power windows, A/C and a very handsome dark blue over light gray cloth. Find it here at Automobili Stelvio in Måløv, Denmark for 15,900 euros (~$17,800 USD today).
25K-Mile 5.0/5-Speed: 1984 Mercury Capri ASC McLaren
This 1984 Mercury Capri convertible (VIN 1MHBP79M4EF620634) is a rare ASC McLaren modified car, reported to be number 19 of 50 built for the model year. The seller quotes just 25k documented miles, and the car does look to be unusually well-preserved throughout. A 5.0 V8/5-speed car, the monochromatic white exterior is very 80’s, though excellent condition and dark blue leather Recaros go a long way towards softening the blow. Find it here on Craigslist in Annapolis, Maryland for for $7,900.
7850-Mile SMG: 2004 BMW M3
This 2004 BMW M3 (VIN WBSBL93424PN57808) is described as a “time capsule,” and mileage is claimed to be an extremely low 7,850. Though we typically prefer a conventional three-pedal arrangement over the SMG gearbox fitted to this car, its condition looks to be outstanding, and the seller claims absolutely no modifications from factory spec. Find it here on M3 Forum in Westchester, New York for $29,500.
