Automatic Project: 1978 Ferrari 400
This 1978 Ferrari 400 (chassis F101CL23559) is one of 355 automatics produced for the years between 1976-79, and has been in storage since 1992. The odometer reads 58k kilometers, and the car is not currently in running condition, despite the seller attempting to wake it from a nearly 25 year slumber with a fresh battery. Both bumpers are missing, and there’s rust seen in a variety of different places, but we’d guess it’s not beyond saving. Find it here on Hemmings in Dallas, Texas for $25k OBO.
British VW-Based Kit: 1983 Embeesea Charger
This 1983 Embeesea Charger Lader is (as many might have already suspected) a VW Beetle-based kit car, but with much better resolved styling and packaging than most. The car has what looks like an early Lotus Esprit/Bizzarrini Manta inspired side profile, and condition looks to be unusually good for this type of build–in fact, the seller makes a point of describing it as well-maintained. Find it here on Catawiki somewhere in the Netherlands with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Straight Line Lunchbox: Pro Street 1979 Ford Van
This 1979 Ford Econoline was customized with a Pro Street look back in 1993, prior to which it’s said to have been a “one owner, daily driver.” $19k in work reportedly included new sheet metal and fresh paint, a mildly upgraded 351 Windsor with rebuilt automatic and computerized ignition, and presumably more. Somewhat appropriately, it’s described as “a cruiser, not a racer.” It’s been driven sparingly over the years, but still sounds like a fun, mechanically healthy driver–even if those slicks and wheelie bars ultimately are writing checks that can’t be cashed. Find it here on eBay in Traverse City, Michigan
Almost Running: 1947 Oldsmobile Series 66 Club Sedan
This 1947 Oldsmobile fastback is claimed to be solid from bumper-to-bumper, while remaining in unmolested condition. Owned by the same person for the last 30 years, it’s been stored for over two decades, thanks to a removed driveshaft and brake job which was never completed. Stored in a garage that was built for the car, it appears to be in overall good, though worn condition. Powered by a 110 HP L-head straight-eight engine that’s said to fire, the car is also equipped with GM’s Hydramatic transmission. Find it here on eBay in Cleveland, Ohio with no reserve.
