Cleanest Around: 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe
This 1988 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe (VIN 1FABP64T3JH213982) has been with the seller for almost 20 years, in which time it’s been well preserved, stored, and driven. A great looking, mechanically healthy 5-speed car from the model’s final year, it’s said to be largely original aside from some older paintwork and is offered with a stash of “hundreds” of NOS T-bird parts including body panels, intercoolers, glass and more. Rough Roller: $1000 1966 Ford Cortina GT
This 1966 Ford Cortina GT is described simply as a barn find, sold as a roller, and listed without any other solid information but the ad fortunately includes a healthy number of photos. The car is pretty beat with rust through the floor and body, several dents, and a broken rear window. However it remains mostly straight and could be a good builder since it’s offered for cheap. Find it here on Craigslist in Washington, Maine for a negotiable ask of $1,000.
Real Deal: Running $4K 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator Project
This 1969 Mercury Cougar (chassis 9F91M565381) is a true Eliminator package car per the included Marti report and features a running 302 in place of its original 351 Windsor. Other solid info on the car is scarce but it’s obviously a project that sounds to have sat unused for several years-the seller hasn’t attempted to drive it-and it’s presented with rusty quarters and torque boxes but is claimed otherwise solid. Find it here on eBay in Rutledge, Tennessee with reserve not met and $4k BIN.
Extended Project: 1950 GMC Suburban
This 1950 GMC Suburban has not run in 25 years, but was reportedly stored indoors. The description is very brief and no photos of the underside are included, but things look to be mostly complete. Mileage is given as 6,500, but there’s a strong possibility that the odometer may have rolled over and from the looks of things and the location, rust is a valid concern. Find it here on Craigslist in Ada, Michigan for $4,200 or best offer.
