500 HP LS2 Build: 1974 Porsche 914
This 1974 Porsche 914 is powered by what the seller describes as a 500 HP LS2 V8, itself mated to an upgraded 930 transaxle. Tires measure 255 and 315-section front and rear respectively, and fenders have been fitted with appropriately massive bolt-on flares. Empty weight is given as just 2,400 pounds, and from what can be seen and read in the brief ad, build quality seems high. Find it here on Craigslist in Camarillo, California for $43k.
350/Three-on-the-Tree: 1968 Chevrolet C20 Panel Van
This 1968 Chevrolet Suburban (chassis CE258Z103239) is a C20 model that’s said to have had screen time on various shows and movies over the past decade. The seller claims just 1,572 of these panel vans were manufactured for the year, and this one looks to be in excellent condition with a straight body and a great shade of light green paint. It’s also said to be reliable, and has the tried and true combination of a 350 mated to a 3-speed manual. Find it here on eBay in Dallas, Texas for $13,500 OBO
Twin Cam Cosworth Rebuild: Ford Escort RS2000
This Ford Escort is claimed to be a genuine AVO (Advanced Vehicle Operations) RS2000, and Madena Green sounds to have been its original color as well. Fully stripped and soda-blasted prior to metalwork, the seller claims that all welding was done to a very high standard, and indeed the car does show very well in photos. The original Pinto engine has been changed out for a 2.0 liter, 16v, twin cam Cosworth running big Webers, and the seller reports 216 at the crank. Suspension, brakes, gearbox and differential have all been upgraded as well, and though factory-style side decals haven’t yet been fitted, they are included. Find it here on eBay in West Malling, Kent, England with reserve not met.
Rippled Right Rear Quarter: 1988 BMW M5 Project
This 1988 BMW M5 (VIN WBSDC9303J2791700) is a project with rear end damage and an unverified 138k on the odometer. Apart from a nasty crease down the right rear side, things don’t look all that bad. A lot of work lays ahead for this one should someone decided to take on the challenge, but given the hockey stick jump in value for first gen M5’s seen over the past few years, chances for that happening look pretty good. Find it here on Copart in Lexington, Kentucky with no reserve beyond an unmet $5k starting bid.
