Price Drop Update: Needy but Running 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi
12/12/2016 Update: Just under four months later, this 1981 Ferrari 308 GTSi (VIN ZFFAA02A2B0034971) is back on the market, apparently by the same seller. Though still in need of mechanical, cosmetic and rust repairs, they’ve dropped the asking price, and it’s now likely among the least expensive running, drivable examples out there. They recommend a new timing belt and cam bearings, which in combo with corrosion and cosmetic repairs could quickly double initial ownership costs. Still, provided you’re fairly skilled and equipped with the right tools, these are among the most “self-serviceable” Ferraris made, and once in top mechanical shape, the rest could be tended to over time. Find it here on Craigslist in Albuquerque, New Mexico for $29,900 firm. Special thanks to BaT reader Mike W. for this submission.
No V12 or Trans: 1972 Lamborghini Jarama Project
This 1972 Lamborghini Jarama has been sitting since 1988, and is now offered without its factory V12 and 5-speed gearbox. Excluding the drivetrain and some trim, the car appears to be mostly complete, and glass, the interior, engine bay and underside all look to be in surprisingly good shape. Find it here on Beverly Hills Car Club in Los Angeles, California for $39,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
No LS Swaps, Please: Engineless Tatra 603 Project
This Tatra 603 is missing its air-cooled, rear-mounted V8, and is offered for restoration. The seller has a pair of engines for sale in other auctions, and they believe that one is likely the original for this car. They’re not quite sure of the car’s model year either, but estimate it to be a 1970. Find it here on eBay in Wilsdruff, Germany with no reserve. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Upmarket Swiss IH Scout: 1978 Monteverdi Sahara
This 1978 Monteverdi Sahara (chassis 7620) is a rare, upmarket, Swiss-modified version of the more familiar International Scout. Though its serial is very close to the last one featured on BaT (truck 7630), the gap in condition couldn’t be bigger–this one’s said to have just 22k original kilometers, and it looks fantastic inside, out and underneath. Find it here on eBay in Düsseldorf, Germany with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
