Price Drop & Update: Documented 1960 Elva Mk5
7/24/2015 Update: This 1960 Elva Mk5 is back on the market again about 20 months after our last feature in November of 2013. Then offered as a 1985 restored car that had been sitting for several years, its latest ad seems to suggest it may have returned to track use since–says the (presumably same) seller: “I’ve retired from racing and it’s time to get rid of the toys. This car is reasonably competitive and certainly would be with a younger driver.” Find it here on eBay in Haddam, Connecticut for $68k OBO.
5-Speed V6: 1990 Citroen XM in the US
This 1990 Citroen XM (VIN VF7Y3AL0000AL1619) is a range-topping 24V V6 model equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. Recently imported into the US, the seller is still awaiting a Vermont title that will be included with the sale. Cosmetic condition is only OK, but mechanicals including Citroen trademark olepneumatics are said to be in very good working order. 5-Speed Swap: Color Flipped 1962 Jaguar MkII 3.8
This 1962 Jaguar MkII was originally an automatic transmission-equipped example finished in gray over red, the seller noting that this color scheme was reversed at some point. A 5-speed manual gearbox installed by a marque specialist has replaced the original automatic. and condition looks to be quite nice as well. Beautiful Rarity: 1941 Buick Super 8 Business Coupe
This 1941 Buick Super 8 Business Coupe (chassis 13925320) represents the high point of Buick’s styling just before automobile production was curtailed on February 5, 1942 to begin war time production for World War II. The seller notes that this car is 1 of 2,452 Super 8 Business coupes, out of a total of over 300,000 Buicks produced in 1941. Find it here on Hemmings in St. Louis, Missouri for $27,900 negotiable.
