BaT Success Story: 1972 Chrysler Wagon Shipped and Shined
This just in the the buyer of the 1972 Chrysler station wagon that was sold via BaT Auctions in June (link):
“Hey Seller and BaT,
The White Whale is on its way to becoming an awesome driver. Some photos after deep cleaning the paint. It had absolutely no shine to it when I got it but I coaxed the shine out. I’ve got about 15 hours so far into it. Pretty much done. Don’t think it can get better than this which is pretty freaking good. Don’t know if you remember but the door jams were filthy. Here’s a pic of how they came up.
Mechanically, I think the car needs a master cylinder. Definitely stops but I see your concern. Needs a rear main seal as it is leaking pretty badly, and a tune up with electronic ignition badly for performance and reliability. AC recharge or some other issue. Otherwise this car is perfect.
Thanks again!
Ross G.”
At delivery:
Not Stock: 1957 Chevrolet Nomad 6-Speed
This 1957 Chevrolet Nomad is filled with a nice mix of hot rodding elements ranging from a wild copper-flake roof to its Richmond 6-speed. Apparently finished to a very high standard, we like how it is customized but is neither rat nor overtly modernized. The solid chrome wheels and wide whites work well. Find it here on eBay in Ventura, California for $52,900 OBO.
Keep The Lettering: 1964 Studebaker Champ Pick-Up
This 1964 Studebaker Champ (chassis E721405) is a nicely worn, claimed ultra-low mile example of Studebaker’s last truck. These mis-matched vehicles featured the front half of a Lark sedan, a full-width box borrowed from Dodge, and a frame dating to 1949. If the rust is as limited as it appears at first glance, this could be a nice utility driver. Find it here on eBay in Lexington, North Carolina with reserve not met.
305 WHP Track Build: 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Berg Cup Widebody
This 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit looks monstrous with bulging fenders and packs a turbocharged 16V good for a claimed 305 WHP–not at all shabby for a car weighing just barely over a ton. Caged with heavily upgraded suspension and brakes, the seller says they’re at least $20k deep in parts alone, and describe the finished build as well-sorted. Find it here on Craigslist in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for $9k.
