Black Plate Project: 1960 Lancia Appia Vignale Convertible
This 1960 Lancia Appia (chassis 812.01.3810) is a Vignale built Convertible featuring a 1.1L V4 with a hemi head and 4-speed, and is said to be one of 1,584 examples produced. Having owned the car for nearly 20 years, the seller has done an excellent job describing the car’s condition and listing which parts are missing or included. Find it here on eBay in Sunnyvale, California with reserve not met.
BaT Auction Success Story: Scirocco from Portland to Pittsburgh
This just in from the buyer of the 1979 VW Scirocco that was sold via BaT Auction (link):
“Hello BaT,
I first learned to drive in a 1970 VW Bug. After a Vega and beat up Chevy van, my first "nice" car was a 1978 Scirocco that I bought in 1981. Through the years, I've acquired many of the great cars I coveted in my youth. In the past few months, I learned of BaT and looked forward to the daily e-mails. I bid on several cars of interest without winning any. This Scirocco showed up on BaT completely off my radar. I haven't even seen one on the road for at least 25 years, a sad consequence of living in the rust belt. Of course, many great memories filled my head. I mentioned the car to my car enthusiast friends and was amazed at how many either owned one or had a good friend with one.
We all have fond memories of our great handling "rocket ships" (all of 70+hp). Of course the car was on the wrong side of the country and I was hesitant to bid, but a friend, who had 3 Sciroccos starting with a 1977, suggested what a great excuse for a road trip. The fact that this car had an upgraded 1.8 liter Audi 4000 motor and 5-spd. drivetrain, along with an upgraded suspension made it even better for today's highways. I was fortunate to win the car and the road trip was ON!
Street Registered: IMSA GTO Style 1989 Audi 90 Quattro
This Audi 90 Quattro was extensively modified by the current seller to replicate the wide-body IMSA cars of the era. The entire build is documented here on his site at AudiMotorsport.se, including photos showing the construction of the wheel fans, fender flares, and V8 engine. Silverstone Metallic: 85K Mile 2000 Acura NSX-T
This 2000 Acura NSX-T (VIN JH4NA2162YT000222) is described as an unmodified, original condition example that’s well-maintained and complete. Few cosmetic flaws are apparent, the seller says it’s been completely reliable over their eight years of ownership and we always dig a flip-light NSX in a great color. Find this one here on eBay in Fallbrook, California with no reserve.
