Abandoned Project: 1970 Citroen Mehari
This 1970 Citroen Mehari is an abandoned restoration project with most of its plastic bodywork either damaged or completely missing–fortunately replacements are still being made. Mechanicals appear to be intact, however their condition isn’t disclosed. Luckily the ask is pretty low, parts availability is good and construction is simple. Find it here on eBay in Jacksonville, Florida with no reserve beyond an unmet $1,200 starting bid.
First Automatic Scooter: Restored 1949 Salsbury Model 85
This 1949 Salsbury Model 85 scooter is a rare example of a model first conceived during the Great Depression. Utilizing a patented CVT transmission, gas and brake pedals, and fantastic Art Deco styling, the Model 85 was introduced as an inexpensive alternative to car ownership and is often cited as the first automatic-equipped scooter. This one has been both cosmetically and mechanically restored, with work including an electric start conversion–the original kick and rope start options were retained as well. Find it here on eBay in Anamosa, Iowa with reserve not met.
Documented From New: 62K Mile 1984 Porsche 944
This 1984 Porsche 944 (VIN WP0AA0945EN462376) is a nice-looking example of the most successful selling model in the marque’s history, at least until the later Boxster arrived on the scene. This one is claimed to be mostly original, though there aren’t very many details given in the ad. Despite spending at least the last 15 years in snowy northern climes, the car appears to be in very good condition, likely a result of being garaged over the harsh winters. Find it here on eBay in Farmington, Michigan for $11,300 OBO.
Monterey Historics Ready: Restored IMSA GTO 1988 Corvette
This 1988 Chevrolet Corvette runs a purpose-built Riggins race chassis and is said to have seen competition use from new. Recently restored starting from an un-wrecked chassis, it’s seen a few very successful shakedown races since and sounds to have a lot of potential. Says the seller: “Loaded with high-quality parts, tough as nails, built smartly, and well-sorted this car has zero bad tendencies and is an honest pleasure to drive fast.” Find it here on eBay in Perrysburg, Ohio with a $78k BIN.
