Rarely This Nice: 1989 Volvo 780 Bertone Coupe
This 1989 Volvo 780 is one of about 8,500 built in Italy by Bertone between ’86 and ’90. That same carrozzeria was also responsible for the car’s styling, and though very similar in appearance to standard, Swedish-built 700-series models, these coupes’ lower roof, trunk, and hood lines mean that all panels are unique and not interchangeable with four and five-door models. This turbo B23 four-cylinder powered example is said to have had one previous owner, and garage kept claims are supported by what appear to be very nice cosmetics inside and out. Find it here on Craigslist in Raleigh, North Carolina for $4,950.
350 SBC Swapped 1957 International Harvester Metro
This 1957 International Harvester Metro (chassis SM1224833) is a cool-looking, short 102″ wheelbase model that’s had its original straight-six and manual swapped for a 350 SBC/automatic combo. Though cosmetics are a bit rough, with some wood frame repairs needed underneath the factory aluminum skin, overall the truck looks very usable as-is, and the seller says it runs and drives well thanks in part to new brakes, tires, and more. Find it here on eBay in Oregon City, Oregon with reserve not met.
Rare 4-Speed Wagon: 1962 Chevrolet Corvair Monza
This 1962 Chevrolet Corvair is said to be one of just 2,362 Monza wagons built, and as most were equipped with automatics, this example’s 4-speed makes it even more unusual. Recently pulled from 18 years in storage, some mild refreshing work has it running and driving well, and cosmetics are very nice driver level inside and out. Find it here on eBay in Portland, Oregon with reserve not met.
Smoke Silver over Red: Sharp 55K Mile 1990 Mercedes Benz 300TE
This 1990 Mercedes Benz 300TE (VIN WDBEA90E8LF127856) comes in the unusual but attractive combo of Smoke Silver over Medium Red MBtex, and was picked up in ’89 by its original owner at the Sindelfingen plant through Benz’s European delivery program. The car remains in beautifully maintained, original condition inside and out, and the seller claims just 55,500 miles from new. Find it here on eBay in San Diego, California with reserve not met.
