Early Porsche Cabrio: 1942 Type 82 Kubelwagen
This 1942 Porsche Type 82 Kubelwagen is pictured with its contemporary enemy, the Willys Jeep–this example is available separately. A former Luftwaffe car, it was found in Poland before a thorough two year restoration was undertaken. Looking remarkably accurate in its Feld/Panzergrau paint, it also packs a “hot-rodded” 36 horse flat-four in the rear. Full of refurbished or rare NOS parts, this piece of history has had less than 50 miles added since restoration, and is said to start, run, and drive very well. Find it here on eBay in Galena, Ohio with reserve not met.
Less is More: Almost Stock 1950 Mercury Club Coupe V8
This 1950 Mercury Club Coupe retains its original 255ci flathead V8 and column-shifted 3-speed with overdrive. Like the seller says, many of these cars have been chopped and further customized, but this one remains all stock except for a mild-looking set of exhaust pipes, wired, working NOS spotlights, and cool “blue-dot” taillights. It also looks to be in excellent condition throughout, and further benefits from new paint, chrome, stainless, and tires. Find it here on Craigslist in Lyle, Washington for $37,250. Special thanks to BaT reader NJ Batz for this submission.
64K Miles & All Stock: 1993 Volkswagen Passat VR6/5-Speed
This 1993 Volkswagen Passat wagon is a is a rare third generation wagon with the fun narrow-angle VR6/5-speed manual drivetrain combo. Mileage is said to be just 64k, and the car remains completely stock apart from an aftermarket head unit. The seller adds that both the exterior and cabin are holding up very well, and that the car has no issues. Find it here on Craigslist near Silver Spring, Maryland for $4,900.
Rare Anywhere: 1988 Fiat Tipo 1.6 DGT in New England
This 1988 Fiat Tipo DGT 1.6 (VIN ZFA16000004343433) is a rare hot (or at least warm) hatch featuring a Lampredi twin cam and a digital dash. Interestingly, early models were badged “Digit” in reference to the gauge cluster, but were later changed to DGT–apparently confusing many into believing the model was diesel-powered. Claimed to be the first example on US soil, this car looks to be in very nice shape and shows just ~88k km on its brightly colored dash. Find it here on eBay in Cranston, Rhode Island with reserve not met.
