Mid Engined Big Block Swap: 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa
This 1966 Chevrolet Corvair started life as a Marina Blue Corsa, but has since been resprayed era correct GM Evening Orchid. Though largely stock-looking apart from the wheels, the car has been fitted with a Kelmark built Toronado drivetrain conversion kit, meaning it now runs a mid-mounted, 425ci, 385 HP V8 and chain-drive automatic transaxle combo, most of which is stuffed directly behind the rear seats and under the parcel shelf. Find it here on Craigslist in Sequim, Washington for $12k.
Big Red Bentley: $10K 1989 Turbo R Driver
This 1989 Bentley Turbo R is said to remain in excellent, all original condition, including the paint, interior, and force-fed 6.75 liter V8. The ad further notes new tires, a clean title, and current smog. Darker colors suit these cars better, but if as good as claimed, it’d be easier to overlook the bright red, especially at this price. Miura Lime Resto: 1971 Fiat 850 Spider
This 1971 Fiat 850 Spider is said is described as a two owner, rust free, California sourced car with 55k miles. Fresh off of a two year restoration effort, the car looks very nicely done and is said to run and drive well. This Lamborghini Miura lime isn’t the car’s original color, but looks very close to a Fiat factory offering–it’s basically identical. Find it here on Craigslist in Fairfax, Virginia for $7,200.
Best Taillight Award: Unmolested 1959 Mercury Montclair Turnpike Cruiser
This 1959 Mercury Montclair Turnpike Cruiser (chassis M9TB525983) is said to be absolutely original and untouched with just under 51k miles on the odometer. Though not perfect, the car still presents impressively well for its age, and has clearly been cared for. This bodystyle seems to be pretty rare, and has some of the era’s coolest taillights. On offer by the second owner, the glovebox is full of original paperwork, and they add that it runs and drives very well. Find it here on eBay in Warsaw, New York for $19,900 OBO.
