Incredible Find: Seventh Generation Chrysler Turbine Engine
This Chrysler turbine engine is described as a seventh generation model, and though missing a few small external parts, is believed to be largely complete. All internals sound to remain free-turning as well. Most will be familiar with Chrysler’s 60’s Turbine car, but it isn’t as well-known that the company continued to experiment with the technology well into the early 80’s–in fact, the 1981 M-body New Yorker apparently came incredibly close to being the world’s first production turbine-powered car. Perhaps this unit was once fitted to a development car? Whatever its history, it’d be amazing if it could run again. Find it here on eBay in Southfield, Michigan with no reserve and fast bidding. Special thanks to BaT reader Brian L. for this submission.
One of the Last: 1976 Jensen Interceptor III
This 1976 Jensen Interceptor III (chassis 22111955) is a final year model with a great monochromatic black color scheme. Cosmetics look pretty good for the most part, but a few relatively easy fixes could bring big rewards–starting with straightening the bumpers. Functional power accessories and cold A/C are definite pluses, and right or wrong, we dig the redlines, too. Find it here on eBay in Saint Louis, Missouri with reserve not met.
Basel, Turin, Detroit: 1970 Monteverdi High Speed 375L
This 1970 Monterverdi High Speed 375L (chassis 2020) is one of a handful of the Swiss engineered, Detroit powered, Frua designed, and Fissore built GT cars sold. This one has had a nice quality respray, but is believed to be otherwise original, including the indicated 55,525 miles. Find it here at Hyman in Saint Louis, Missouri for $225k. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Ex-Works Racer w/ Le Mans History: 1970 Costin Amigo
This Costin Amigo is an interesting ex-works racer that’s described elsewhere as perhaps Frank Costin’s most important and advanced design. According to this earlier ad for the same car, it’s actually a 1970 rather than a ’69 as is quoted by its current seller, and though still impressive, touted period Le Mans history was as part of a three-hour support race and not the full 24 hour event. Running condition isn’t mentioned, but the car does look to be in excellent shape, and sounds to be ready for track use as well. Find it here on eBay in Chelmsford, Essex, England for 45k GBP (~$63,500 USD today) OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
