Lexus V8 Powered 1968 Toyota Corona Coupe Hotrod
This custom build combines bodywork from a 1968 Toyota Corona hardtop coupe with a custom tube-frame chassis and Lexus quad cam V8 power. Finished in 2004, it was originally built for entry in the Silver State Classic Challenge, but has actually never competed. Still, with just under 8k miles added over the past 12 years, the car sounds to be well dialed-in, and has been driven from Los Angeles to San Francisco at least once. Build quality looks excellent throughout, and the car is packed full of interesting design and construction details. Find it here at Auctions America, in Santa Monica, California where it will be offered as lot 2087 on June 26, 2016. The hammer estimate is between $25k and $35k.
Nightmare Project: Engineless 1988 BMW M5
This 1988 BMW M5 (VIN WBSDC9301J2791839) is a rough, incomplete project that’s been in a front end collision. Sold as a shell with no engine or transmission, the car is also missing its title, which is likely why the seller describes it as a 1987, when all US market E28 M5’s were 1988’s. Though the engine, transmission and original wheels are long gone, the interior remains largely intact sans the gauge cluster. Said to have minimal rust, the body is nonetheless in pretty sad shape, but the car doesn’t appear to be a total loss–most of the cabin, suspension, and brake components as well as the driveshaft are included. Find it here on eBay in Pompano Beach, Florida with no reserve beyond an unmet $1k starting bid.
Freshly Serviced Targa Top: 1990 Ferrari 348 ts
This 1990 Ferrari 348 ts (VIN ZFFFA36S000086353) looks great and sounds to be in excellent condition, even for an exotic with under 18k miles. A walk-around video embedded within the ad shows all paint to be original, its narrator occasionally stopping to take consistent gauge readings. The car shows virtually no flaws inside or out, and all electrics are said to be in working order, including often worn window switches. A 2012 service saw the timing belt changed, and just 300 miles have been added since. The 348’s supposed driving deficiencies have been greatly exaggerated–these are excellent driver’s cars, and the Targa top ts is the one to have. Find this one here on eBay in Champlain, New York for $59,900 OBO.
One of 168: 1968 Lancia Flaminia GT Touring Superleggera
This 1968 Lancia Flaminia GT is a rare and beautiful Touring built, aluminum bodied Superleggera coupe, the ad quouting just under 170 made. Restored in the late 1970’s and well kept since, the car looks beautifully preserved inside and out, with the ad further claiming a 2015 refresh encompassing the engine, gearbox, and interior. Find it here on eBay in Diksmuide, Belgium with reserve not met.
