Grabber Blue Survivor: 1971 Ford Pinto 1600/4-Speed

a

This 1971 Ford Pinto remained with the original owner until last year, and has since been lightly recommissioned for road use after siting for several years. Original Grabber Blue paint shows quite a bit of patina, particularly on the surface rust covered roof–apart from one very small spot however, the car is said to remain free of through corrosion or rot. It retains a beautifully preserved interior, and a Grabber 4-speed first year car with optional front disc brakes is about as desirable as Pintos get. All jokes aside, these cars are virtually impossible to find in good shape, and this one definitely seems worth preserving. Find it here on Craigslist in Fullerton, California for $3,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Jason M. for this submission.

Sharp Restoration: Trumpet Gold 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

Oldsmobile Toronado | eBay

This 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado (chassis 396876M51358) has been restored to what looks like a very nice standard, the car showing excellently inside, out, and underneath the hood. These first year models are arguably the prettiest, reflecting the purest form of Bill Mitchell’s brilliant original design. Restoration work is said to have included both extensive mechanical and cosmetic work, and what looks to be factory Trumpet Gold was one of the best OEM options for these interesting FWD luxury coupes. Find this one here on eBay in New Lenox, Illinois with reserve not met.

5.0/5-Speed Swapped: Rare 1961 AC Greyhound

a

This 1961 AC Greyhound is one of just 83 built over the model’s entire five year production run, though it’s original straight-six–either a Bristol, AC or Ford unit–has been swapped out for a fuel-injected 302. As a 2+2 version of the Aceca, itself a coupe variant of the Ace on which Shelby based his Cobra, the Ford 5.0 liter/5-speed swap even makes historical sense. Find it here at Auctions America in Los Angeles, California where it will be auctioned on June 26th, 2016 with no reserve. Hammer estimates range from $14k-$18k.
