Matching-Numbers S1 Project: 1963 Jaguar E-type Roadster
This 1963 Jaguar E-type roadster (chassis 877933) is described as a matching-numbers “barn” find in need of restoration. Reportedly parked for 40 years following a front end collision, the car has rust and is missing a few parts like the carbs and front bumper, but as a fairly early Series 1 car, should definitely be worth saving. Find it here on eBay in Syracuse, New York with reserve not met.
Impressive Restoration: 1956 DKW Schnellaster
This 1956 DKW Schnellaster 3=6 (chassis 66406870) is fresh from an intensive two year restoration, and the result is truly impressive looking. The seller says that this van has remained in Southern California since first imported new, and a large gallery of detailed photos and interesting historical context makes it ad worth a read. Find it here on Old Bug in the Los Angeles, California area for $135k OBO.
Subaru STI Power & 993TT Brakes: 1990 VW Tristar Doka
This 1990 Volkswagen T3 Doka Tristar looks to be in nice shape inside and out, and as the lowered ride height, big Hellas and Porsche twist wheels hint at, modifications are extensive. Few are listed in detail, though an ’04 Subaru WRX STI motor is definitely the headliner, and the seller quotes 375 HP and a 140 plus MPH top speed. Find it here on The Samba in Portland, Oregon for $35k. Special thanks to BaT reader Christopher L. for this submission.
Stock Look Oval Sleeper: 1956 VW Beetle w/ Dual Carb 1776
This 1956 Volkswagen Beetle is an excellent looking restomod that offers a very cool mix of near stock appearance and a hot twin carb 1776. Built for reliable long distance running and performance, the builder wanted to keep up with 356’s during vintage rallies, which the car should now have no problem doing, thanks to what’s probably close to 200% more power than stock. Find it here on Old Bug somewhere in Maine for $29,950 OBO.
