Post Polish Update: 1962 Vauxhall Cresta Project
7/13/2016 Update: Just over a year later, and what appears to be the same car as featured below is back on the market, this time about 70 miles northeast. Looking buffed-out or perhaps even resprayed, the seller doesn’t say much, but does admit to the car needing some unspecified work despite being in nice overall shape. It seemed to have a lot of promise before, and now looks really sharp–at least on the outside, as interior and engine bay shots have still been omitted. Hopefully whatever needs it still has are moderate, as it’s simply too good looking to be left to fade again. Find it here on Craigslist in Mission, BC, Canada for $4,900 CAD ($3,800 USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Eric B. for this submission.
$7500 or Trade for Crew Cab: 1989 Bentley Turbo R
This 1989 Bentley Turbo R is even less expensive than the one featured here last week, priced exactly half of what was already a rather low ask for one of these cars. Its condition doesn’t look to be quite as good however, and the ad is pretty short on hard info, too. It appears to be sitting kind of low in the rear, and the driver’s seat is rough looking–otherwise the cabin isn’t bad. Mileage is given as a relatively high 139k, but a Turbo Bentley at this price is definitely intriguing. Even though running condition isn’t mentioned, this one could be tempting for the right kind of buyer–i.e. adventurous, skilled with a wrench and well-equipped. Find it here on Craigslist in Lakeway, Texas for $7,500 or trade for a crew cab truck. Special thanks to BaT reader John W. for this submission.
Not a Kit Car: Super Rare 1967 Unipower GT Project
This 1967 Unipower GT is one of just 75 built and 13 sent to the US, and though it looks like a lot like a period VW based kit car, these were actually very highly developed and specialized sports cars built with some impressive tech, including a square tube frame with four wheel double wishbone suspension, a bonded fiberglass body, and mid-mounted, transverse placed Mini drivetrains–in this case the optional Cooper 1275S. The car hasn’t run in 30 years and as such will need to be restored, but it’s said to be complete and in good shape underneath all the dust. Find it here on Craigslist in Crestwood, Kentucky for $25k firm. Special thanks to BaT reader Shane R. for this submission.
Well Kept Wagon: 1977 AMC Pacer
This 1977 AMC Pacer wagon (chassis A7A687C260120) wears resprayed paint and a reupholstered interior, but both are accurate to original factory specs and look nice. The seller says it drives great, and brakes and tires are both said to be in excellent shape as well. Though not originally equipped with A/C, the seller offers all needed parts for a conversion for an additional $500–with a bit of negotiation, it might even be worked in at no extra charge. Find it here on Craigslist in Monrovia, Maryland for $4,950. Special thanks to BaT reader Steve B. for this submission.
