Cheap & Proven V8/5-Speed Build: 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula
This 1988 Pontiac Fiero Formula looks like a tidy driver and was converted to Cadillac V8 power about eight years and 56k miles ago, strongly suggesting that any bugs have long been ironed out. What separates this one form many similar swaps is the 5-speed manual gearbox, a definite plus as most run automatics or at the least 4-speeds. The seller says the car is quick, tight and quiet, further claiming an impressive 25-26 MPG on average. Find it here on Craigslist in Seattle, Washington for $4,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Jon F. for this submission.
Rare Two-Door Hardtop: Built 440 Powered 1961 Dodge Polara
This 1961 Dodge Polara is a very rare two-door model of which the seller claims just 1,862 built. No chassis number is provided, but they add that it’s believed to have been the eighth off the production line. The car has been partially restored, including new OEM correct Formal Black paint and a refurbished chassis, new brakes, and a “brand new, very wicked” 440 with roller rockers. It hasn’t yet been installed here, hence the high front end, but it will be fitted along with a rebuilt 727 TorqueFlite prior to sale, and the seller says that the car will then only need the interior finished to be 100%. Find it here on Craigslist in Libby, Idaho for $15k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Brett M. for this submission.
Virtually Extinct: 1980 Plymouth Sapporo
This 1980 Plymouth Sapporo was recently purchased from the second owner, who according to the seller had been with the car since it was two years old. It’s had a respray and the interior has been redone to factory specs, but it looks good and is said to run and drive very well also. These Mitsubishi-built cars are essentially extinct, with the small handful featured here before likely representing a large percentage of those left anywhere in the country. Find this one here on Craigslist in Santa Clarita, California for $4,200. Special thanks to BaT reader Jim Y. for this submission.
Road Runner Style: 440 Equipped 1968 Plymouth Satellite
This 1968 Plymouth Satellite was originally equipped with a 383 4-bbl but currently features a rebuilt, upgraded, and good sounding 440 Magnum along with what sounds like a partial restoration. Paint and some interior parts are fresh, suspension is updated, and the 727 automatic was rebuilt as well. It looks straight and is claimed rust-free, and despite lacking the Road Runner nameplate, the car still has a restrained menace that’s perfectly suited to its big block rumble. Find it here on eBay in Roanoke, Indiana with no reserve and fast bidding.
