Strangest Steering Wheel Award: 1978 Peugeot 104 SL
This 1978 Peugeot 104 SL would be an unusual sight in the US, but there aren’t many left in its native France, either. The car sounds to have been converted to a 4-speed manual from an automatic at some point, though Google’s translation service is often pretty rough. Regardless, it looks to be in nice driver level condition, and its super funky interior is particularly well preserved. What’s especially intriguing at this price is that the car could likely be purchased, shipped and put through US importation and registration hoops for under six grand. Find it here on Mobile in Hockenheim, Germany for 1,200 euros (-$1,300 USD today)
Mid Range Notch: Restored 1969 Ford Torino GT
This 1969 Ford Torino GT (chassis 9A44H147262) is a very good looking example of an older restoration, and while not a full-on, earth shaking Muscle Car, these middle-of-the-road late 60’s Detroit performance coupes are still very appealing in their own way. Power comes from an H-code 351 and FMX 3-speed automatic combo, and sale includes a file of restoration receipts. Find it here on eBay in North Royalton, Ohio with a $19,900 BIN.
200 Plus HP 2852cc: 1962 Meyers Manx Hot Rod
This 1962 Meyers Manx has been built into a street biased buggy, and with 200+ HP from a dry sump, nitrous injected 2852cc boxer four, claims of it being very fast seem almost an understatement–we’re sure the wheelie bars aren’t just for show. The car looks very well turned out inside and out, and with four wheel discs and a custom built 5-speed, it’s more than just a big motor and a nice paint job. Find it here on Craigslist in Rancho Palos Verdes, California for $24,900.
Great Details: 1967 White 3000 COE Six-Wheeler
This 1967 White 3000 is an interesting and seldom seen cab over engine design that’s described as being in reliable driving condition. In addition to appearing very nicely preserved, the seller also lists a host of recent maintenance, and features like a built-in, period PA system, electrically tilting cab, and a big 400 cubic inch gasoline fired straight-six should be endless fun to play with. Additionally, though by no means small, the truck’s short wheelbase, six wheel setup and moderate cab dimensions means you won’t need a giant warehouse to keep it. Find it here on eBay in suburban Chicago, Illinois with reserve not met.
