6.0 Liter V8 Swap w/ AMG Parts: 1987 Mercedes Benz 190E
This 1987 Mercedes Benz 190E (VIN WDBDA28D4HF330118) wears many authentic, period correct, pre-merger AMG items like a widebody kit, monoblock wheels and exhaust, but what really sets it apart is a solid lifter converted 6.0 liter M117 V8 swap. The car needs lots of cosmetic, mechanical and electrical finishing, and the seller makes many big claims about value, but despite any issues, it’s impossible not to see the potential here. Untouched for 49 Years: 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 MkII
This 1955 Aston Martin DB2/4 MkII is described as completely unrestored and unaltered apart from a period color change from factory Moonbeam Gray to Harold Radford Blue. Put away in 1967 following a head gasket failure, the seller says it’s virtually free of corrosion, and speculates that it could be put back on the road largely as-is following a mechanical refresh. The car does look complete and very well preserved underneath decades of accumulated grit and grime, and its high degree of originality is unusual for a non-basketcase. Find it here on eBay in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England for 135k GBP (~$178k) OBO.
401/QuadraTrac: 1975 Jeep Cherokee
This 1975 Jeep Cherokee is fresh from two decades in storage, and both looks and sounds as it if might retain a high degree of factory originality. A 401ci V8 and QuadraTrac equipped example with A/C, power brakes, power steering and an automatic trans, it’s a highly optioned truck and the seller says it’s in excellent condition throughout. Many-Tone: 1973 BMW 2002tii Roundie
This 1973 BMW 2002tii (chassis 2762669) looks a bit unloved inside and out, but the seller insists that it runs and drives much better than appearances would suggest. The car retains its factory engine and 4-speed, and for this price we’d be happy to drive it as-is while saving up for a cosmetic restoration. Find it here on Craigslist in Redwood City, California for $8,973.
