Sleeper Fox Body Wagon: 1978 Mercury Zephyr

This 1978 Mercury Zephyr (chassis 8X36F527993) is said to have started off as a “super dry and clean California car,” and has since been given what looks and sounds to be a very well executed sleeper treatment. Starting with the car’s original 302, it’s been bored, fitted with high-flow aluminum heads, roller rockers, a big carb and much more. Electric exhaust cut-outs are fitted, and the car sounds fantastic at idle. Find it here on eBay in Rapid City, South Dakota with reserve not met. Special thanks to BaT reader rdgabert for this submission.

Dropped Flattop: 1959 Buick LeSabre

1959 Buick LeSabre Flattop

This 1959 Buick LeSabre is an amazing looking four-door hardtop model that’s been lowered to exaggerate the effect of its very long, low and wide styling. It’s said to retain both original paint and interior, and power comes from a 364ci V8. The seller adds that it runs and drives well, and recent work included fitment of new brakes, radiator, alternator, and wide white radials. Find it here on Craigslist in Kelowna, BC, Canada for $12,500 USD. Special thanks to BaT reader Glen A. for this submission.

Unusual VW-Based Kit: 1981 Aquila

b

This 1981 Aquila is a rarely seen VW-based kit that makes use of an early 70’s Beetle with semi-trailing arm independent rear suspension and a 1600 dual port boxer four. The seller describes a car in good condition, and photos seem to agree. It’s equipped with both heat and A/C, and the ad claims it remains in drivable condition as well. Find it here on Craigslist in Ogden, Illinois for $5,500.

Rare Inline Four (Barrel): Track Prepped 1969 Boss 302

This 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 (chassis 9F02G209005) is openly described by the seller as a trailer queen with only 200 miles added since restoration, despite their original intent to track it. Rather than lap times, it’s said to have accumulated numerous magazine features and wins at national shows, and though no restoration timeline is given, ts awards and articles date work to the mid-2000’s. The car still shows beautifully, and has been upgraded with lots of fantastic period performance parts too. Find it here on eBay in Hudson, Colorado with reserve not met.
