48K Miles: Beautifully Preserved 1993 Lexus LS400
This 1993 Lexus LS400 is described as being in “absolute mint” condition with a low 48k miles. Condition does indeed look extraordinarily good throughout, and these groundbreaking first gen cars are wonderfully refined and relaxing cruisers with ample power and faultless build quality. Toyota set out to make a very big statement with the LS400, and it’s arguable that they’ve yet to build a car to the same standards. Find this one here on Craigslist near Boston, Massachusetts for $10k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader P. Brown for this submission.
Low Mile 5-Speed: 1977 Toyota Corolla
This 1977 Toyota Corolla is a 5-speed manual driver that’s said to wear its original paint. Described as a base model example with vinyl seats and crank windows, the seller claims to have purchased the car from what sounds like the original owner with 75,000 miles, and recent maintenance designed to get the car roadworthy included a brake job, cleaning of the fuel system and fitting of a new carburetor. The description mentions a few small issues here and there, but the car is summarized as being very reliable and overall looks to be a nice survivor. Find it here on Craigslist in Cincinnati, Ohio for $5k.
Seven Ninths: Fiat X1/9 Project Lot w/ No Reserve
This lot of Fiat and Bertone badged X1/9’s includes seven cars with years ranging from ’79 to ’87, all in varying states of condition, and though none are running, the ad declares that some were regularly driven less than a decade ago. None of the cars look too rough, and each is claimed complete, while it sounds as though a large amount of spares are included as well. Find them here on eBay in Fort Worth, Texas with no reserve.
$65K Driver: 1955 Mercedes-Benz 190SL
This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 190SL is said to have come from California, and the seller further claims that it has no rust. It’s said to have spent most of the past 20+ years parked in this heated garage, with occasional exercise from Sunday drives. Restored to what’s described as 7/10ths condition sometime in the 80’s, the seller admits it needs some minor work here and there, but it sounds to remain drivable as-is. Find it here on Craigslist in Sumner, Washington for $65k firm. Special thanks to BaT reader Mike M. for this submission.
