Price Drop Update: 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE SII Shell

Ferrari Other GTE | eBay

9/13/2016 Update: About a year and a half since its first feature on BaT, this 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE (chassis GTE3403GT) is back on the market, this time for about $13k less. The car is advertised with the same photos used by its last, Texas-based seller, though is now sounds to be in Spain–this isn’t necessarily a red flag, but it’s always wise to exercise caution with overseas sales, anyway. As noted before, the car was originally built with more attractive Series 3 taillights despite being an S2, and condition of the shell looks quite good. Glass is good, window regulators work, and though some exterior and cabin trim is missing, overall the body looks nearly ready to mount to a suitable chassis and drivetrain–notably, a V12 Jag XJS has exactly the same 102″ wheelbase… Find it here on Autobelle somewhere in Spain for 22,500 euros (~$25k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.

Restoration Worthy Basketcase: 1959 Lancia Flaminia Touring Convertible

This 1959 Lancia Flaminia (chassis 824041178) is a rather special Carrozzeria Touring styled and built convertible that’s recently been unearthed from long-term storage. The car is obviously in need of extensive restoration, but is claimed to be 95% complete. This one will take years and a small fortune to put back on the road, but remains highly worthy regardless. Find it here on eBay in Norway, Maine with an unmet $47,540 starting bid and no further reserve.

Too Special to Scrap: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda AAR Project

This 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda AAR (chassis BS23J0BXXXXXX) is quite a rare car–one of 1,120 pistol-grip 4-speed cars, and one of just 145 Rallye Red models according to the AAR Registry. Unfortunately, it’s also very rusty, packs a non-original engine and transmission (though they’re correctly date coded 1970 pieces), and lacks a data plates. However, it does display the correct “J”  VIN code, the drivers door sticker indicates a correct March of 1970 build date, and there are numerous other telltale pieces present that seem to support this as being a legit AAR ‘Cuda. Mechanically, the car packs a 340ci V8 with the Six Pack intake setup, an 833 4-speed trans, and a 3.55 geared Sure-Grip LSD 8 3/4″ rear. Find it here on eBay in West Grove, Pennsylvania with an $18.340 BIN.

Wood Rose Running Project: 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville

a

This 1959 Cadillac Coupe de Ville (chassis 59G095840) is an unrestored Series 62 example that’s described as being very original, with matching numbers on the engine, frame, and body. The car is clearly ready for a lot of work, but remains in drivable condition–the seller says it starts easily and runs well. Rust repair will be part of any restoration effort, but the car appears to be mostly complete including glass, trim, and interior fittings, most of which survive in very decent condition by the looks of things. Find it here on eBay in Salt Lake City, Utah with no reserve.
