$20K OBO: Tagged & Thrashed 1989 BMW M3
This 1989 BMW M3 is said to have 208k miles on the original engine, a clean title, and a nice interior. The seller admits that it needs bodywork, but also claims that it runs excellently. No further details are provided however, and these two snapshots are the only two included in the ad. Appearances suggest that it’d be wise for prospective buyers to proceed with caution, but it’s hard not to be intrigued by this one. Find it here on Craigslist in Santa Cruz, California for $20k OBO. Special thanks to BaT reader Alex T. for this submission.
Aluminum 305 Buick V8 Widebody: 1969 Lotus Europa
This 1969 Lotus Europa has been heavily modified to accommodate a an aluminum 305ci Buick V8 and Porsche 911 5-speed transaxle beneath its custom flared bodywork, though hasn’t been used much in the past 10 years and as a result will need some work. The seller has driven it in and out of their garage however, so it obviously runs, and once sorted, the car could be an absolute terror to drive. Find it here on Craigslist in Denver, Colorado for $8,500. Special thanks to BaT reader Dave F. for this submission.
Three Pedals & Cold A/C: Sharp 1991 Volvo 240 Wagon
This 1991 Volvo 240 wagon (VIN YV1AA8854M1898130) looks to be one of the nicer five-door examples we’ve recently seen. A well documented maintenance history may bolster confidence in prospective buyers, and with the same continued level of care, this thing will probably still be on the road in another 25 or even 50 years. Find it here on eBay in Fairview, Oregon for $13,500 OBO.
SBC/5-Speed Swapped Monster: 1960 Austin Healey 3000
This 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BT7 has been fitted with a 350 SBC, unspecified 5-speed, a Ford rear end, side pipes, and an aftermarket hardtop in place of the missing convertible item. It looks a bit raw, but that certainly suits it well, and the seller says it’s loud, fast and fun to drive. All gauges are reported to work, and the ad claims it stays cool, too. Find it here on Craigslist in Burlington, North Carolina for $19k. Special thanks to BaT reader Thurston M. for this submission.
