High Speed Artillery Tractor: WWII Era M5A4
This M5A4 High Speed Artillery Tractor (chassis 5948) is said to be of WWII vintage, though hasbeen fitted with Korean War Era storage mods. Built using the tracks and volute spring suspension of the M3 Stuart tank, these tractors were designed to tow a 105mm Howitzer or 155mm “Long Tom,” along with the required crew and ammunition. Unfortunately this example is currently inop due to its big Continental straight-six freezing about three months ago, but the vehicle does look to be in good, complete condition, and the seller reports that it steered and stopped well prior to the engine quitting. Sale includes “a bunch of spare parts,” too. Find it here on eBay in Rusk, Texas with no reserve.
Sorted Hydraulics: 1967 Mercedes-Benz 600
This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 600 was delivered new in California, but now resides in continental Europe. The seller says it’s been very well maintained, and remains in perfect working order, further noting a recent refurbishment of the complex hydraulic system as well as a cylinder head overhaul. Described as unrestored with 90% original paint, sale includes service history with stamped factory maintenance booklets. Find it here at Gallery Aaldering in Brummen, Netherlands for 92,500 euros (-$102k USD today).
East German Oddity: 1968 Multicar M22
This 1968 Multicar M22 is an unusual and interesting little truck, one of ~45,000 built in East Germany over a 10 year period ending in 1974. Notably, Multicar is still making similar small service trucks today, and is the only surviving manufacturer of the former DDR’s IFA, or Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau (Industrial Association for Vehicle Construction). The seller notes a new engine and gearbox, as well as refreshed suspension, steering and brakes. Find it here on eBay in Kehidakustány, Zala, Hungary with a $3,300 USD BIN. Special thanks to BaT reader PGN for this submission.
Custom Pick-Up Build: 1965 Ford C600
This 1965 Ford C600 (chassis C61BV723611) has been converted to a pick-up via fitment of a surprisingly harmonious looking 90’s era F-series dually bed. The truck looks cool in recently sprayed grayish-green paint, though a few cabin details could stand to be better resolved. Regardless, the seller says it was built for work and not show, and further notes a refurbished braking system, fully functional electrics, a 300ci straight-six, 4-speed and dual-range rear end. Find it here on eBay in Aguanga, California with reserve not met.
