Number Two of 14: 1997 Vector M12
This 1997 Vector M12 is reportedly the second of just 14 built, excluding three or four pre-production prototypes. Though loosely based on an earlier Vector concept, the M12 was in essence a stretched and re-bodied Lamborghini Diablo underneath its fiberglass bodywork. The car had a troubled history, with poor management, quality control, press and other issues all contributing to a very limited production run. We love an interesting orphan however, and they don’t come much more special than this. Find it here on eBay in South River, New Jersey for $170k OBO.
Unrestored 5-Speed: 1978 Toyota Celica GT
This 1978 Toyota Celica GT (VIN RA42033509) looks very well kept and is claimed by the seller to be unrestored and original. This might be the nicest original GT of this generation we’ve seen in years, but unfortunately the ad doesn’t provide much context. A 20R four cylinder/5-speed car with factory optioned A/C, there’s no word on the latter’s working condition, but even if it needs work, it looks like it’d be worth it. Find it here at Mecum in Anaheim, California where it will be auctioned between November 14-17.
No Reserve: 1957 Porsche 356 A Coupe Project
This 1957 Porsche 356 A (chassis 58314) is offered as a rusty project with a disassembled engine. Someone’s already started restoration, welding on a new front fender and rear clip, though lots of finishing work for these areas, as well as more rust repair elsewhere remains to be done. As the seller points out however, restorable A coupes aren’t as numerous as they once were, and no reserve means this one could still go for a fair price. Find it here on eBay in Ravena, New York.
Knocking Banger: 1931 Ford Model A Tudor Hot Rod
This 1931 Ford Model A Tudor (chassis A4356937) is described as a driver rather than a show car, the seller admitting to “some paint imperfections, leaks and squeaks.” Regardless, its claimed rust-free Henry steel body looks great with straight sheet metal and a beautiful, era-appropriate color. It’s been chopped for inches for a more sinister look, and power comes from a “banger” four cylinder fitted with a nice selection of period-style speed parts. Hydraulic “juice” brakes have been retrofitted as well, and though the engine has a slight knock, many may see this as an opportunity to fit a 24-stud flathead V8. The seller says that replacement banger cores are a dime-a-dozen at under $500 however, and it’d be a shame to ditch all the cool hop-up parts–also, though we always dig a good flatty-powered hot rod, there’s something to be said for going in a less traveled direction. Find it here on eBay in Carmichael, California with reserve not met.
