B-36 Peacemaker Tow Rig: 1950’s Coleman CF-55-AF Tug
This Coleman CF-55-AF is of an indeterminate model year, but is thought to have originally served during the Korean War Era. Developed in the early 1950’s and used to move the heaviest bombers in the Air Force’s inventory, these tugs are massive. Though running when it was parked, someone forgot to cover the exhaust stack, so water has gotten into the engine freezing it up. Four-wheel steering, an enormous winch and a claimed 20 ton weight are just a few of the highlights. Find it here on eBay in Salem, Oregon for $26k OBO.
One Owner VR6: 1992 Volkswagen Corrado
This 1992 Volkswagen Corrado is a VR6-powered example billed as a one owner vehicle with 80,000 miles. Though very brief, the description offers a quick rundown of the car, noting that it “runs and drives 100%” and that everything works, including the sunroof and active aero spoiler. Photos are lower resolution, but good condition remains evident regardless. Find it here on Craigslist in Boulder, Colorado for $12k.
Driver Project: 1983 Audi Quattro
This 1983 Audi Quattro (VIN WAUDC0855DA900110) is described as a “great original car” that needs attention in a few areas, but remains in running and driving condition. In addition to included spares, the seller also mentions a fair bit of work that’s been done, and despite so-so cosmetics, the car clearly has potential. Find it here on Craigslist in Amarillo, Texas for $16k.
V123 Factory Limo: 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300D Project
This 1978 Mercedes-Benz 300D is a factory limo with seating for up to eight. Though visually a bit rough, the interior isn’t at all bad, and the seller says its OM617 diesel five runs well. Its manual trans is another potential plus, mileage is given as 100k kilometers, and the seller further claims the car to be “very solid overall.” Find it here on Craigslist in Madison, Wisconsin for $5,500.
