Sleeve Valves & Center Drive: 1937 Panhard Dynamic
This 1937 Panhard et Levassor Dynamic is described as being in original condition, the seller adding that it hasn’t been driven in some time. Condition looks very good inside and out however, with just a light and entirely appropriate patina. More than just a wild styling exercise, these cars were both unusual and advanced, with features like full monocoque construction, sleeve-valve engines and even center steering on this early example. Find it here at ER Classics in Waalwijk, Netherlands for 50k euros (~$53k USD today). Special thanks to BaT reader Kyle K. for this submission.
Three in Front, Four in Back: 1979 Matra Simca Bagheera X
This 1979 Matra Simca Bagheera (VIN 6550*9X501403) was recently imported from mainland Europe, and is said to be a good running example that’s in need of nothing. Thankfully, this one has had its frame galvanized, an Achilles’ heel that did a lot of these cars in fairly quickly. Predecessor to the Murena, nearly 48k of these earlier models were built over a seven year span, and this example has nice low-key colors and appears to be in nice cosmetic shape as well. Find it here at Justin Banks.com in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England for 7k GBP (-$8,700 USD today).
Highway Locomotive: 1923 Stanley Steamer
This 1923 Stanley Steamer is offered as part of what seems to be a collection sell-off, and though the ad is brief and quite vague, these cars are so special and come up for sale so infrequently that we try to feature all the good looking ones. This example’s blue and black color scheme is wonderful, and cosmetic condition looks to be quite decent underneath all the dust and smudged-up brightwork. Additionally, the seller claims its engine has recently been started, though they also admit that “some minor adjustments” are still needed. Chances are it should be worth the trouble. Find it here on eBay in Saint-Laurent, Quebec, Canada with a $75k USD BIN.
One Owner From ’87: 1986 Saab 900 Turbo 16V 5-Speed
This 1986 Saab 900 Turbo (VIN YS3AD35L1G2016003) is on offer by the second owner who reports to have purchased it way back in ’87. A desirable 16-valve, forced-induction 5-speed car with nice colors, the ad describes a well-maintained car with a new oil pump, belts, brakes, tires and ice-cold A/C. Find it here on Craigslist near Denver, Colorado for $4,500. Special thanks to BaT reader David P. for this submission.
